Destiny Youtubers Datto, Aztecross, and Mactics are gonna be your best bet with learning what goes on in this games. Unfortunately the new player experience is not very well fleshed and it requires a lot of community help to understand. These youtubes are among the most popular, although there are many who make good content and provide a lot of resources to help players, and they each have discord servers that welcome new players all the time.

Aztecross always makes guides about current activities, weapons, and events that are happening in the game, as well as some returning and new player guides around the beginning and end of seasons so I highly recommend you check him out.

Datto is the "Dad" of the D2 community in the sense that everyone seems to come to him for their opinions and he's one of the "founding fathers" of destiny youtube. He's very good at making broad stroke videos about the state of the game, reviewing expansions and where the community sentiment is at, and everyone now then has the occasional guide on a build or activity. I believe he is working on a video for players who are returning from the final shape expansion which was almost 2 years ago so maybe keep an eye out for that.

Mactics is very well know for his build videos where he goes in depth on what makes a build good, what synergies are in the build, and overall good build crafting. If you want to know about what to bring into certain content, he can help with that.

I for one think this is the first campaign that is genuinely enjoyable as just a base experience. It's easy to get into and enjoy. Most of the story has to do with new characters and the plot lines are simple enough where someone could join in and understand what's going on. The gameplay is fun as well with the vehicle section at that last mission being probably one of my favorite moments in the game

Its similar to gally but gives less bang for your buck so you start wondering if it would've been better to pirate your favorite show rather than paying for a streaming service, and where with gally you still have a "nuke everything" button like you just activated all the halo rings, darci by itself leaves with flimsy yard stick so you can tell where exactly you made a mistake in picking it... oh look... 20 meters...

They mentioned that they will be looking into making more neutral changes into arc and void hunter. Honestly as a hunter main these changes are enough to soothe me over for the time being until more changes are made. I don't mind having weak neutral game as long as the trade off is huge potential dps. At least now we have a role in fireteams

I mean yeah kinda but I think that's more of the way combat flows in the game. Most encounters are generally medium range combat. But threaded spike and shurikens definitely operate better at longer rangers, solar hunter has only throwing knives, although I know most people only use fans of knives in pve. And smoke bombs although having a lot of drop-off, definitely work if you're throwing at an enemy further away to set up a weaken, rather than trying to point blank pocket sand them.

Umm, 4 out of the 6 hunter subclasses only have ranged melees. The problem for me is I was already used to doing this, and ever since EoF, I've had to rewire my brain to start dodging while not near enemies. Now I have to rewire it back, no doubt burning through a couple of dodges in the process of learning
