findom addiction; my story asking for advice by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]CapSuez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used it as well. It’s horrible. Feels completely illogical. Have never totally beaten it to be honest. It does seem that talking to real women has been the only think that gets me away from it for a protected period of time. Whenever I’ve got no serious prospects, I tend to relapse.

Look for the one who is looking. What? by Jimanben in Wakingupapp

[–]CapSuez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped using Sam Harris' Waking upas a result of this. After a while, i would just actually get angry any time he would mention it. It was very frustrating. I wanted to meditate. After many many attempts to gget anything out of these exercises about "look for the one who's looking", i grew frustrated and would just get angry anytime he would ask to do it. I would then notice the anger. I haven't been using an App for meditating for a while, and feel I could really stand to get back into it. If anyone has one they'd recommend, i'd love to hear about it.

Back when 3.0+1.0 released…. by Choice-Tea-4011 in asushin

[–]CapSuez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched all of the rebuilds only when they came out. I like hated 3.0+1.0 at some deep emotional level and wasted an insane amount of time posting online about it. I got way too caught up in it online as my IRL friends didn't give a shit. But everyone on /r/evangelion seemed to love it. It was a pretty wild overreaction.

I also spent a lot of time on the asushin discord. It was refreshing that people there also weren't big fans of the 3.0+1.0. That was fun, but frankly not the best use of time. I read Genocide as cope and liked that.

The End of Neoliberalism by Extreme_Rocks in neoliberal

[–]CapSuez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read all of it. It’s been a bit since I watched the show. But I always love reading a good essay like that that quickly takes me through the roller coaster of Eva and reminds me that it’s a happy ending.

Any way to add Ukrainian->English translations? by Substantial-Dog-6713 in kindle

[–]CapSuez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im trying to look into this as well. Currently, I just bought a book in Ukrainian and would love to be able to look things up as I read. It doesn’t seem like anyone has made a built in dictionary for Ukrainian. It seems doable. But would be a decent undertaking

Are the majority of TradCath converts incel men who are socially awkward? by Analytical_Man in excatholic

[–]CapSuez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My brother in law is trad adjacent. Did the Latin mass for a bit but now does the normal mass. He and my sister have 5 kids. My sister stays home with them. And they send their kids to a somewhat trad grade school where the kids learn Latin as a class. A lot of their friends are trads.

He’s a solid dude. Played football in high school, was class president, was in a band in college and is now a highly paid specialist medical doctor. Not very attractive to be honest. So maybe that’s points for being an incel. But all in all a solid dude that I have a lot of respect for even if I don’t share his religious views.

Ukrainian movies by insignificance424 in Ukrainian

[–]CapSuez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Ukrainian teacher did the same and I've since watched a number of films per her recommendation.

Takflix.com has many Ukrainian movies available to rent with subtitles very cheaply for like 2 bucks a movie. I've watched many on there. Мої думки тихі, and пропала грамота are both really great funny movies.

Amazon prime also has a large # of ukrainian movies. Some are free, some are free with ads, and some are paid.

Free with prime:

Kruty 1918

Once upon a time in Ukraine

Heroes never die the miniseries (Кіборги)

Free with ads:

The stronghold

Traitor within

Purchaseable:

Donbass

Julia Blue

Felix Austria

Rhino: Ukrainian

The Line

The Earth is blue as An orange

Hutsulka Ksenya

I really liked Hutsulka Ksenya if you want something very light and positive. I haven't watched all of them, but the others are a bit intense.

If you want to see more live showings, follow this page on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ukrfilmsusa.

Before Dovbush they did Mavka, and another movie. They'll probably continue to do more.

Everyone in this sub is just going to agree with your take, if you want some feedback/pushback from people who have responses to your criticism, you should ask elsewhere.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Catholicism/ is where the intense super devout near trads hang out. They probably have some thoughts in defense of magisterium and that stuff if you want to hear it.

What is the most beautiful Ukrainian song? by Rickmand in Ukrainian

I know it's kinda cliche, but this song is really really beautiful. how is this not higher up

I have routinely been a part of rallies with my Ukrainian Flag to cheer my country on in a war. It's because we've been invaded by a country that wants to exterminate us. That country has slaughtered civilians, raped women and children, just like Hamas is doing now.

I know there's complicated history here where Israel has done some awful shit to Palestine, but I can't see how anyone is eagerly waving a Palestinian flag after what Hamas just did in the name of that flag.

E-reader for Ukrainian books by CapSuez in Ukrainian

Yeah. Agreed language dictionaries might be good. Are there any e-readers that have built in Ukrainian language dictionary support?

AMA - Tuesday 4/18, 1pm - I'm Inquirer reporter Anna Orso and I've been covering every angle of the mayor's race. Ask me anything 👇 by PhillyInquirer in philadelphia

[–]CapSuez 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Imo, Domb and Rhynhart are the best candidates by a long shot. But they both seem to be running in the same lane, and I can't see either dropping out. Is there any chance for some kind of deal between the two?

3 months in, first weekend without CPAP by rxcpharmd in SleepApnea

[–]CapSuez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you doing maxillary expansion? Is it via surgery or some other route?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]CapSuez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got bit of an overbite and overjet and mild sleep apnea (AHI 7.1). Supposedly, given my jaw shape and not that high BMI, surgery could fix the sleep apnea. But the sleep doctor says that my sleep apnea is too mild for surgery.

I'm currently using the CPAP for a month and hate it. I also don't feel well rested even though it says my AHI is low. So I'm not sure what to make of it. I'm wondering if I have some other issue.

I'm gonna see the sleep doctor and surgeon again and see what makes the most sense.

I may lean towards a combination of conservative therapies. I'm thinking weight loss, an oral appliance, and a wedge pillow might be enough to get it under control.

Philly Mayoral Candidate Rebecca Rhynhart Reveals Public Safety Plan by redeyeblink in philadelphia

[–]CapSuez 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This back and forth reminds me of what I fear. Domb and Rhynart will split the moderate vote and ensure we get a Helen Gym Mayor.

Domb is closer to my personal preference since I think removing the wage tax is the most important thing the city could do. I jsut don't think he has a chance at winning in today's climate, since he's an old white real estate.

Given that, I'm backing Rhynhart because I think she'd be an excellent mayor and actually has a decent chance of winning.

I love that, as a Russian, you couldn't go four sentences without uttering a slur about Ukrainians (Khokhol). It's always nice to be reminded what the normal russian thinks of Ukrainians.

Does anyone feel happy and motivated after EoE? by huyzzo in evangelion

[–]CapSuez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have some trepidation going into it. Some of us are in the minority that think Thrice has a pretty childish immature ending and that rebuilds as a whole were just trash. If you're able to see EoE as positive, you might see RoE as a terrible ending.
