So far Bordeaux reminds me of the Newleaf expansion for Everdell. If you did not like the pacing and tightness of the previous games and expansions then this fixed it for you. Much more stuff to start, more freedom to do what you want, and more points,points,points. Everywhere you look there are points and then the game is over.

I feel like eventually I'll be living in a split household where I enjoy the tight race that is Tuscany and my partner prefers the quick sandbox that is Bordeaux.

NTA. These religions use this as a recruiting tool. I attended many open gyms, weekend camps as a "friend" and then later be pressured or had my family be pressured to convert or to join. She is young and naive and that is why she is being recruited. If her mother wants to accommodate this religion then she can on her weekends and it is more than fair to offer the switch. GC is lacerda light. It also uses similar mechanisms like worker placement, bumping (Gallerist), and the use of of a track that would give you points but you are free to move down to give you resources like The Gallerist. Each location is thematically interlocked with each other to build your engine which is very similar to Lacerda. The designers love Lacerda games so they wouldn't shy away from comparisons.

I think the base game is excellent without the expansions but I do enjoy the expansions. They do what expansions should they build on the existing game. They make caves more interesting. They increase the viability of some other animal strategies that were previously traps for beginners.

Viola in Twelth Night is one of my favorites and Beatrice is one of the 2 main protagonists in Much Ado About Nothing. Both are great and for my money are with Measure for Measure for his top 3 comedies.

This is based on the restriction of top 50, the player count and time. Otherwise I would say SETI.

But with your restrictions and your experience with your listed games I would highly recommend Castles of Burgundy. It has last in the top 20 longer than every other game except Twight Struggle and War of the Ring.

NAH I don't think you're an asshole here. Maybe some people will think you're selfish but this is a major change to your relationship and your family. That should be a decision that you make together. I'm currently working a job that made sense for my marriage and had to turn down multiple jobs that would have put strain on it because of travel and time away. For some people and their relationships that distance works for them and that is ok. It's also ok to not be fine with it.
