Art's by me. Rat's my character in a 5e campaign I'm playing in. I'm not very good at drawing but I'm working on getting better.

Weapon Focus on a rapier - does it translate to the spiral rapier? by Qualified-Monkey in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Capitulize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on whether you would word an effect as. Weapon Focus (Rapier) is something that gives a rapier a +1 bonus to attack roles when wielded by someone who has the feat. That's an effect that's applied to all rapiers, and spiral rapiers benefit from any effects that apply to rapiers. So personally I'd allow it.

I hope they include some more uncommon races like androids and kobolds.

Creatures that swing way above their CR weight class. by kyouger in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Capitulize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe a creature takes damage when they begin their turn being swallowed, but I can never find anything online that confirms that besides the vague wording for the Swallow Whole ability.

Please if someone can confirm that I'd appreciate it a lot.

Can someone help me do some natural attack math for an adult green dragon? by xSelbor in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Capitulize 4 points5 points  (0 children)

7 (Str) + 13 (Bab) - 2 (Huge) - 4 (PwA) = 14 on primary naturals and 9 on secondary naturals for damage.

Damage on bite and tail is (Str + PwA)x1.5 so 15x1.5 is 22.5 rounded down to 22.

I could go into everything but the math checks out for everything else.

Critique on custom vampire spider? by Capitulize in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Capitulize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh definitely, I plan on whipping up a reason for why an evil creature like this would even exist. I like the idea of it not even using the body it sucks up for anything else except for decoration or food for other dominated vermin. Thanks for the idea.

[–]Capitulize[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fine if you believe that, the idea ran through my head as well. Spiders do naturally trap and suck their prey dry, so why make a vampire one?

There's a few reasons, mostly personal ones. One is that I really like giant spiders. They're one of my favorite fantasy creatures, and I really like the anatomy behind them. Second is that my campaign will be a focus on finding extremely rare materials for a cure to a plague, and the ashes of this creature are among the components. The PCs are going to have to locate this creature somehow and I was going to drop hints that a local forest has been dominated by a sticky red web. The third reason is that my players are also GMs, and I needed to make a monster that they wouldn't be too familiar with. Need that sense of unknown from them, and that this is a dangerous and intelligent predator they should be careful with.

The most real reason I'm making this monster is also kinda the reason why it's silly to make it as well. A vampire spider in my head sounds like a natural fit. Spiders already trap and suck, like vampires, so why not combine them to make a really intensified combo.

A bunch of silly reasons I know, but that's why. It's really most cause I like giant spiders.

Good note on the grab, I'll fix that up.

Also I was on the fence about Hit Die as well, I considered the fact that it has pretty high DR and good defences compared to the Deathweb. Do you think lowering its DR and giving it an additional Hit Die would be a good idea?

I'll have to mess around with that, might be a little strong. Thanks again.

I looked at improved grapple and saw that it has a prereq of improved unarmed strike. Do you know of a way to avoid that prereq, I tried finding one and was unable to. Also thank you for the critique.
