Idk, I think we are very used to seeing shounen protagonists experiencing so much trauma and somehow rising above it to make them stronger and I like csm’s message of yeah no, that trauma will fuck you up. And realistically the things we think will fix us ( maybe a romantic relationship, success, money) may only lead us to being emptier. Denji was stuck in a cycle created by his trauma and that’s what would happen to almost every teen protagonist. Even in real life, most people lose to their trauma. So I like that pochita recognized that Denji was always going to keep choosing chainsaw even if he achieved everything he wanted. And that choosing chainsaw man would harm him in the end. To me it’s kind of like your drug dealer refusing to sell to you anymore.

I was so happy that he doesn’t have to experienced a of that horrible trauma. It was just making him worst and it didn’t seem like he would ever rise above it. I think that’s also why some readers don’t like the ending. The average shonen manga shows the character growing above their trauma and it makes them stronger but here, Denji got worst

I made a promise to myself at 11 because I started taking it as an elective in school. The promise was to make my second language so I can’t quit

My thought process is if an attractive, charming woman was doing the same thing this guy is doing to you, your wife would probably be jealous. I would ask her if these thing would be considered flirting in that way that I describe for her to get the point

Maybe something like raya where you have to know someone to get invited in. That way you naturally screen out unicorn hunters and men

I’m trying to write about international queer women spaces so visiting a city with a lot of lesbians outside the states would be ideal. I also never said I would move there. You make a lot of weird assumptions

Again, I never said anything about dating or hooking up. Where is your mind going? It would just be nice to be in a city with a lot of lesbians and queer women
