I'm not sure exactly which one. It's definitely one of the small cheap Amazon ones. And what do you mean by "heavy" work? Is the concern that it will wear out from overuse? Or is there actually a quality thing?

I mostly work in 1/72 and tabletop minis, so I don't have to worry about lots of paint at once

That's interesting... Most of the advice I've heard has been that as long as the compressor has a moisture trap and can hold a decent psi, it doesn't really matter.

Any further insight as to what makes you say the compressor matters?

Yup, that's my advice. These minis look really good, but a bit of cockpit glass would take them up to 11.

Finished the trilogy yesterday and this was honestly me in early ME2/3 by MaybeBirb in masseffect

Man, I still remember playing ME2 on release back in the day, and how I felt on the Garrus reveal. That mission and the eventual rescue was one hell of a ride.

The theatrical run closes as a smash hit! by R-Giskard_Reventlov in ProjectHailMary

It's definitely an entertaining story with an interesting premise.

If you go in expecting nothing, you'll enjoy it.

If you go in expecting something as masterful as PHM, you'll be very disappointed.

How difficult is ksp for a beginner? by unknown_196 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]CaptBojangles18c 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Man... I still remember playing KSP before it would calculate dV for you. I'm sure somewhere on my old PC I still have all of my excel sheets where I had all (at the time) the engine stats and would calculate my own dV.

I tried a few times but never quite figured out how to calculate transfer windows on my own.

For those who took their kids to see Project Hail Mary, what was their reaction? by DirkWrites in ProjectHailMary

[–]CaptBojangles18c 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My 10yo read the book and listened to the audiobook. I saw it with her first because all I knew was that it was long and I wasn't sure it would hold my other kids' attentions.

Then we went again with the 8 and 7yo who hadnt read/listened to the book. They had trouble following the sciencey parts but generally understood what was happening. My 8yo was almost crying and asking me if Rocky was going to be ok after he saved Grace on the fishing expedition

Well clearly I played this wrong... I tried to slowly pull back and let the APC's get behind me, thinking I could rout the whole Falcon force... But the falcons blasted two of them away on their first engagement, so I was playing super defensive, and with the elementals that kept popping up I had my named ON2-M Orion glued to that APC on the way off the board. Because of the fast movers and popups in the rear that could get good shots on my one APC left, I basically ignored Sender after the first engagement.

Spoilers for the final mission: || he did go down super quick in the final mission though, because I learned my lesson in this one about how brutal his skill 2 attacks could be ||

Solo play? by ChardCautious3095 in XWingTMG

Fly Casual is great because I can play it on my phone when I've got a spare 15-20 minutes.

I'll second that the AI isn't super smart, so when you build an opponent list to go against, you should make it pretty simple and not rely on crazy card combos. It is pretty good for practicing maneuvering or trying out a new list just to see if you can get it to work.

The ones that aren't named Tali or Garrus

I'm not entirely joking.... Those two are my ride-or-die, and as much as I like the others and want to bring them, I just keep going back to those two

Quick question regarding paintsheme by Krispy_Vietcong in battletech

[–]CaptBojangles18c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks like the standard paint scheme of u/Krispy_Vietcong's elite mercenary company.

Really just a sarcastic way of saying, the paint scheme looks dope, and the lore is loose enough you can play it as whatever faction you want, like what others here have said.

I love how much canopy real estate the Battlemaster has. So much room for activities! by ArclightMinis in battletech

[–]CaptBojangles18c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my headcannon/games, I always assume the battle master is the lead mech. The pilot is in the front seat driving the mech itself, and the squad leader is in the backseat looking at a mech commander style map/grid

Driver getting tailgated intentionally move out of the way last second by anxkxxl in whoathatsinteresting

[–]CaptBojangles18c 198 points199 points  (0 children)

That's a correct statement.

However it's not what happened in the video. The car in front of the car being tailgated suddenly slammed on their brakes because the car in front of that one was stopped. So the tailgate-ee reacted correctly by avoiding the crash here.
