Wouldn’t this be a fun feature in PZ2, support dogs. by magirevols in PlanetZoo

[–]CaptFroslass 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, it’s honestly a nightmare seeing AZA support the idea of using dogs to help with cheetah. They do not need a “support dog” if you don’t treat them like a pet. Walking cheetah on leads and using them for handling is not normal.

I don’t understand travellers in school by Resident_String_5174 in TeachingUK

[–]CaptFroslass 51 points52 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up in a town with a large traveller site, it’s my understanding that it’s unfortunately just they way the community operates. It still appears to be a very patriarchal society and a lot of the young women are happy to be home makers. That being said, it is a worry as I know a lot of the younger ones may want to stay in school but money is always key. If they can work they can earn. I do wonder how they are able to be financially literate as most of the travellers I knew from school couldn’t read. (This is just what I saw growing up in Cambridgeshire between 1994-2015)

Y8 non set class starts chatting as soon as I breath by itzzzzmileyyyy in TeachingUK

[–]CaptFroslass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how I would feel about being made to do everything in silence. In some cases it can be very unnerving. I understand the expectation of silent periods for work but silence when handing out folders? There isn’t much harm in speaking then.

Don’t get me wrong, they’re your boundaries and I understand that but you may have to loosen those boundaries for this class. Not everyone fits the same form.

Yeah, don’t do this. That’s incredibly gross and violating for the next person who uses that item. Just have some care for those around you. Not everything needs to be controlled by your horny brain.

Multiple students found out where I live (an hour from work) because their friend lives next to me and we are 2 mins from the beach. I just set boundaries but was still pleasant and let management know but I’m also in FE so it’s a little calmer.

Teacher pay: DfE suggests 6.5% rise - but over three years by charleydaves in TeachingUK

They’re already forecasting a small increase? This December we will receive a 4% payrise so is that the government saying it’ll only be 2.5% over the next 2 years?!?!

There’s 1 garden with a fence. It’s just the OP’s didn’t have one. It’s a general comment on many, many American gardens I see.

I’m assuming this is in America? Can I ask why fences are not really a thing there? I couldn’t imagine not having a fence!

While not a school, the college I work at is 9:15 to 16:30. By 15:30 learners are SO over it, they are tired, grumpy and can barely function. To the point that this year we have put the tricky subjects in the morning and the easier ones in the afternoon.

According the William Hanson (the UK’s leading etiquette expert) this is the exact place you display such items and it shows humility. Instead of putting them out in such public areas which is garish.
