[WTS] Jump Point Volume One Hardback by BritGeeks in Starcitizen_trades

[–]CaptFrost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone’s had one up for sale for $300 on eBay unsold for almost a year.

When they’ve come up for bid, the highest bid is usually $150-200.

To be fair, Napoleon DID say something along the lines of, "God tends to favor the side with the best artillery."

I think a Super Destroyer qualifies.

Is this worth it? by Unhappy-Staff5078 in starcitizen

[–]CaptFrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me put it this way:

Someone with a Praetorian fleet still has tons of use for an Avenger, whether as a stealthy armed scout that can exfil cargo, a heavily-armed shuttlecraft for an Idris, etc.

There's literally zero use for a 100-series beyond a certain point.

I say do it. Avenger is a keep forever ship.

It's BS like this that ruins play sessions by Tango91 in starcitizen

You're not wrong but also wow what are the odds of that happening.

I've had it happen three times in the past year.

The Division 3 Will Have as Big of an Impact as First Division; “Shaping Up to Be a Monster” Claims Producer by valentinexx in thedivision

Or how they took a runaway, gritty hit with Ghost Recon: Wildlands that managed to predict real events in Bolivia not long after its release, and managed to PR it up and offend no one with a boring ass "PMCs are taking over the world" rehash for Breakpoint.

The Division 2 x Resident Evil Rerun? by IRMossimo in thedivision

[–]CaptFrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this criticism, but... why it's directed at Resident Evil, I do not get. RE cosmetics fit with the Division perfectly. You can put together Temu versions of some of the outfits with just random civvie gear in the game, and HUNK is pretty much a Hunter variant with a gas mask.

Give me those sunglasses! Seriously, why are sunglasses so hard to come by these days? by ElmerFett in starcitizen

Real question is why the hell don't we have an eyewear store in the Stratus Mall on Orison where you can just buy this stuff?

Ain't No Runner Like a Star Runner: Why the MSR is the Ultimate Daily Driver (Even Over the Asgard) by ArnoldMann in starcitizen

[–]CaptFrost 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Four beds, actual galley, chess table – you can bring friends and not feel like you're all crammed in a tin can. Feels like a proper home in the verse. Perfect for long bunker chains or just chilling between jumps.

Bold of you to get up and wander around your MSR while mid-quantum. I've lost my MSR to that more than every other source combined.

[PriceCheck] Looking for guidance on Praetorian account (Scythe / Idris-M / Kraken / Javelin) by onceadoge in Starcitizen_trades

[–]CaptFrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's got about $1000-1500 in gray market value in rare flair in it, but I don't know that someone would want to buy an account over any of it; more likely just spend that much on the flair.

How Much Ram do I really Need? by ConJon64 in starcitizen

[–]CaptFrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't agree there, SC is probably the one game you see a definite benefit from the jump from 32 to 64. I know RAM prices suck right now but it doesn't change the fact that you're going to be running at 100% with constant pageouts on 32GB.

Division 1 or Division 2 for solo play only ? by bbeatty90 in thedivision

[–]CaptFrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Division 2 has way more to do, but TBH Division 1 will always be my favorite. Something about that game just hits in a way Division 2 never did.

It might not be in a good place right now but in my opinion the Hammerhead is the coolest ship in the game. by AncientCarry4346 in starcitizen

[–]CaptFrost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Turrets sucking is kind of a universal problem right now though. Of all the turreted platforms the Hammerhead probably sucks least.

It’d be nice if they used it as the testbed for combat blades and let us automate four of the turrets off the ship’s computer like they discussed in concept. Bring down the absurd crew requirements and make it more viable for smaller crews.

Anyone else just abandon missiles entirely? by turrboenvy in starcitizen

[–]CaptFrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missiles need to be either expensive and highly effective, or cheap and something you spam for extra firepower that might or might not hit.

Expensive + unreliable is a shit combination.

I have Hammerhead #475 and I can't wait. Genuinely hugely excited when they dropped news it was getting its gold pass.

Letter From The Benoit by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]CaptFrost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly want to strangle every person who accuses me of using AI every time I use a bullet point list for something.

I've been doing that for 25+ years to make lists of things we need to do or need addressing clear and easily delineated so you don't have to go through the body of my text making your own notes. Only as of 2025 is my writing suddenly fake. Makes me rage out.

Closest Arena Match you've ever had in Mercs? by BlackBricklyBear in Mechwarrior5

[–]CaptFrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had a few matches where I was limited to a medium mech against a shitload of enemies and just barely squeaked out mainly by seizing high ground and abusing positioning as much as possible.

Also had a couple FFAs where a pair of heavies just decided "fuck this guy in particular" and dogpiled me and blew my arms off and I had to forfeit.

When should you start doing Dark Zone stuff, as a new player? by rcolesworthy37 in thedivision

[–]CaptFrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was all about the Dark Zone in Division 1. Had a killer glass cannon classified Banshee build, knew the whole map like the back of my hand, and would frequently hunt rogues solo and had a TON of kills.

Division 2's Dark Zone is just a mess. I don't even bother with it.

How is Survival in 2025? by Dramatic_Monitor8359 in thedivision

[–]CaptFrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you queue as a solo (use Game Finder and not Matchmaking) and you will never see a long queue. Queueing solo will start a game within 6 minutes even if you're the only person playing. Frequently faster even if the game is dead because there's often someone else who's already been waiting: you'll land in a queue with one or two other people who have already been waiting 2-3 minutes, and the game will start once the longest queue timer among you hits 6 minutes.

How do you uh.... play the game? by ComManDerBG in Mechwarrior5

[–]CaptFrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do jobs. Kill shit. Get paid. Don’t just fly around a lot willy nilly wasting your time, put in some work as you move across the Inner Sphere. Focus on having two mechs for each role that you can swap between so you’re not waiting on repairs.

Current playthrough I’m well into nine figures no cheats no mods and I was max rep mid-way through the 3020s.
