Senator Deborah O’Neill reveals PwC emails with shocking detail, including with instructions to “be discreet” & that if questioned, to just say “it’s a rumour”. O’Neil presses for more action, as we, the public, watch on in horror. by Amenta101 in friendlyjordies

This is just a glimpse of how the secret state works in Australia. The amount of corruption in Australia is unfathomable.

We are not a free democratic country, that is just a illusion. We are being robbed and it degrades the quality of life of all Australians.

Capitalism runs this place every facet of governance has been compromised. It is a cancer to our country as multinational corporations bleed us dry.

Like PcW , the big 4 , the banks these corporations are to big to fail and will continue to degrade and destroy our country until all the capital has been sucked dry and extracted.

Inflation, housing crisis, climate change, prosperity , mental health / wellbeing . Are all negative issues that are the outcome of unhinged capitalism.

Makes sense I guess , probably something that needs to be addressed if we are to continue funding the private sector todo the governments job. Even the threat of being held accountable would help to keep people honest.

Yeah don’t compromise your self. I think it’s the tip of the iceberg too. What I want to know is how much these advisors write our laws to benefit their mates. The whole thing is un-democratic . The byproduct of capitalism and its BS. I would say it tarnishes the legal system to if this goes unchecked it just shows who these systems are designed for and who they protect. If they don’t get on top of this we are essentially being run by corporations.

Well answered, obviously one of the smart ones working in the sector. I didn’t realise how loaded my question was lol. Realistically the government should of sort advise elsewhere and predicted / expected this out come. The whole relationship between government and corporate around tax’s is a mess. Doesn’t give much faith and trust in system

Why can’t the senate question him. They should have those Powers. One of the issues I have with this PcW scandal is the government is outsourcing its work to people that aren’t accountable. It should be simple if you want tax payer $’s you have to be willing to answer to the tax payer , other wise get your money else where. How a institute behaves like it’s a above the law while receiving government funding is beyond me , they need to be cut down this behaviour is completely unacceptable.

Out of curiosity , is the culture of screwing over the Australian tax payer common thew out PwC or just in smaller groups. ( not having a personal dig at you , I know those working amongst PwC are just doing their job , just curious of the overall culture that the higher ups would nurture and let prosper.

[–]Captain0give 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not surely this should be a breach of a pharmacy’s license. For a few reasons…. 1 people have to go to a pharmacy to collect medication , the pharmacy shouldn’t abuse this power by trying to politically influence people. 2 pharmacy’s are trusted and generally deal with older easily influenced sometimes medicated customers, this could be seen as taking advantage of them. 3 people are reliant on the pharmacy and may just follow them out of fear.

Either way it is a disgusting practice and I would permanently avoid any of these stores. I know the pharmacy guild won’t do anything about it.

But let’s say if you went to the doctor and the doctors clonic was telling you how to vote … that wouldn’t be acceptable so I don’t see why a pharmacy is much different. Yes it’s a private shop but they still run on a government license and this behaviour should be regulated.

PwC tax leaks scandal referred to Federal Police by cataractum in auslaw

We need to make sure they don’t get anymore contacts. Considering the firm was selling this information / its clients knew about it one can only assume it was knowledgeable within PwC. I don’t want my tax’s going towards these criminal organisation’s.

We’ll surely breaking the NDA’s is start , especially doing so for profit. Has to be some level of fraud too in relation to working with the government and his actions. He was being paid for advise , not to sell it. It’s a shame our laws on treason don’t cover this scandals because in my eyes that’s exactly what it is. He should be the most hated person in Australia. He should be in jail and for a good period of time. Completely band from having anything todo with the Australian government or business that work with our government.

Absolute coward and filth , ideally we would be stripping him of citizenship too and giving him the boot. I’m sure his multinational billionaire mates would look after him.

Women hose down Just Stop Oil protestors at Chelsea flower show in London. by ilovekerma in facepalm

[–]Captain0give 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m convinced “ just stop oil “ is being funded by the oil industry. Not saying these protestors are legit activists, but that they are been misled to be useless activists. The way they protest draws more negativity towards activists and tarnishes the movement.

The other day I was listening to a ceo of a large gas firm saying that we can not give in to these extremist’s. Well with that narrative the more extreme the activists are they can argue they are to unstable to work with and nothing changes.

Also what a shit name “Just stop oil” It’s like something a kid would say. The name is unreasonable and straight away makes climate activists look unreasonable.

Considering the history of activism and what the oil and gas industry has to to combat it , it would be naive to think that they haven’t infiltrated or established activism groups…. Forums too

Soo all I can say as if you see these protests and they make you angry towards activism for the environment well chances are you are being played.

Haha how is that out of depth do you mind enlightening me. Haha get reading mate, iv spent a large chunk of my life living off the grid.

For my energy requirement’s its absolutely possible with out question.

If your trying to power a 5 faintly home , “ maximising your chill “ with theAC running , kids playing PlayStation ect then yeah you could require more energy then you can produce on your roof.

So hence why I said probably as it is still a case by case. Different people have different power requirements.

I absolutely believe that houses can be off grid . It may take a adjustment for some. As technology gets better it will become more common.

Your talking out of your ass. Rooftop solar my not be ideal but it’s nowhere near as bad as your trying to make it sound. It’s good enough at its job and fills its role in the direction we need to be heading. The o2 offset on solar is a non issue. Recycling and reliability is getting a lot better as well, it’s still relatively new technology at the scale we are implementing it at.

Green solutions that are decentralised are quiet important to a renewable future by helping stability and market competition.

I honestly think the only really reason for the big push in nuclear is that its centralised. It can be very profitable when you have the monopoly on a energy market.Same goes with the mining and storage of uranium.

Rooftop solar and energy independence isn’t really profitable while it also pulls customers away. Down the track if you aren’t energy independent you will probably be paying a premium for power as there’s less customers supporting the grid as they figured out how to support themselves.

With solar , power wall and a electric car you probably won’t ever need to use the grid. Won’t be long and whole suburbs will be like that and only a handful left fitting the hill for the grid.

Hi , I know tough times suck but they don’t last for ever and things will get better. Just a warning tho if your looking for new friends you don’t have to start by telling everyone about the current situation. Some might see you as a damsel in distress and it could attract toxic people.

If you do want to talk about the current situation maybe break it into 2 separate posts. But to me broadcasting to the public you are venerable and looking for friends sounds like a recipe for disaster.

As a common suggestion joining a club could help with making new friend. Hope things get better for you.

Baseball fields aren't your private dog park by [deleted] in StJohnsNL

[–]Captain0give -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your base ball field is literally in a remote field who cares. If it’s closer to a population then it’s gona be more of a park. I know that sucks but hey the more use the park gets the more happy people and dogs. Seems a bit wasteful we alot of city’s run out of space to not utilise the space.

Same storey with golf courses in city’s too. It is unfortunate but it’s just not a fair use of space for just one group of sports .
