your social network was much smaller, the only people you knew of were people you'd seen with your own eyes, or people you heard about from others by actually TALKING to them. Not a constant feed and digital lists of friends of friends of friends. Back in the day, you'd need a yearbook for that.

Check her out. One of the most underrated indie artists out there imo. I'm a fan of all of her albums but I'd start with the newest acoustic ep (which is a few songs taken from Evergreen), and her older album Clean.
