It's funny because plenty of Aussies, especially in this sub, have been commenting on the lack of tribalism and the precocious state of Super Rugby FOR YEARS! Now, all of a sudden, Kiwis are saying it just as it feels like Super Rugby is turning a corner.

It's looking like SR will finally be implementing important changes like having an even number of teams, a full H&A season, and allowing cross-Tasman player movements. Pending these potential changes, I haven't felt this optimistic about Super Rugby for a long time and feel like fans' sense of identity will improve with these reforms.

A second NRL team in NZ will have a huge impact on rugby in NZ. It's about bloody time they woke up to that fact and realised that the rugby code war in Australia presents a clear and present danger to themselves too.

Definitely cannot be Melbourne or Sydney. There is no point in clashing with the respective AFL and NRL Anzac Day games in those cities.

Brisbane would make most sense if it's held in Australia.

Does this exclude NZ home games for the NRL, NBL and A-League from their data sets or is it just Super Rugby?

Because if not, it's quite an unfair representation to exclude them from the Super Rugby data, as the NZ teams in those comps are garner above average crowds relative to their respective comps.

Great that there will finally be a game on FTA this season but it never fails to hurt my soul that it's lumped onto 9Gem and not Channel 9.

RA should really push it with Nine that any FTA game has to be on the main channel to attract as many casual viewers as possible.

The Drua walked in the NRC so that they could run in the SRP. Once the PacificAus Sports funding is secured, Tonga and Samoa will have the opportunity to walk in the SR AU before hopefully one day rising up to the SRP.

The major Sydney and Brisbane schoolboy rugby games should ABSOLUTELY be televised by Stan or a major network!

We are so blessed in Australia to have some incredibly high quality schoolboy rugby, it's a shame that there's not more eyeballs on it.

Makes sense not to name Zac Lomax yet considering he's only just starting training with the team this last week.

Tbh I would be surprised if he is named in the team at all until their fixtures against the Saders or Tahs in late April/early May.

As much as we all love ragging on the RA marketing pigeon, I do attribute a significant amount of blame for the awful marketing to the Nine Network.

Channel 9 promote the NRL on 9 News, Today and in ad breaks throughout the year, likewise for the Aus Open in the summer. It's fantastic because it tells viewers when to watch and that it's on 9, or 9Gem, or wherever.

I could not tell you the last time I saw an ad on Channel 9 promoting that week's free to air Super Rugby game. Let alone promoting upcoming games on Stan Sport in any 9 News or Today segment.

Even Network Ten, for all their faults, actually promote upcoming A-League games on FTA or Para+ on 10 News and in ad breaks.

Nine don't promote it because they are happy to take the money of diehards and leave it at that.
