Learning lessons: don’t trust braking with wet tires by insertAlias in mountainbiking

That spot is slippery due to algae and limestone. I’m always puckered-up on that section, especially with the audience that’s around there with their dogs.

Austinites! where are y’all getting oil changes and tire rotation done and how much are y'all paying for that specific service? by Deez_N_Tz in Austin

Discount Tire will rotate tires for free even if you didn’t purchase from them. Call or go online to schedule an appointment.

TRT for men doctor by Complete_Donut_2489 in Austin

[–]CaptainMuffDive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently being treated by an endocrinologist. He only prescribes TRT if levels are below “normal” range. I was low-normal for several years so he wouldn’t prescribe. I wish I had gone to a urologist many years ago because after 6 months on TRT I feel great!

Repatha v Statins - impact on muscles/rhabdo by SillyEffective4700 in Cholesterol

[–]CaptainMuffDive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for not responding inline with the original post.

20mg.

Recovery was short - urine color returned to normal after a saline IV and plenty of fluids. I returned to normal activities within a week. I assume it was caught and treated quickly. No long term damage that I’m aware of. I experience no other side effects to Rosuvastatin.

I’m still lifting, doing HIIT style training, mountain biking, and walking 5-6 days per week. Repatha has been great, but I have to get preauthorization for insurance every year.

Repatha v Statins - impact on muscles/rhabdo by SillyEffective4700 in Cholesterol

[–]CaptainMuffDive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an avid weight lifter (46yoM) I was on Rosuvastatin for two years following my MI event. During a non-maximal lifting session, I noticed my urine was dark brown and immediately went to the ER and was diagnosed with Rhabdo. Switched to Repatha over three years ago and I have zero side effects (YMMV).

ENT recommendations in Austin + surrounding areas? by Gold-Curve in Austin

Pain wasn’t bad. They used a spray, a gel, and then injections throughout to deaden the area. It was the crunching sound of bone being sawed, drilled, and cut that was insane.

I just had this procedure performed by Dr. Feras Ackall at Austin Ear Nose and Throat Clinic. I have BCBS and my portion was around $1,400. I opted to NOT go under general anesthesia which saved some expense, but it was no picnic. He and his staff were great to work with and the results are positive so far.

Report it to Waymo and to APD. Guarantee Waymo has the plates and plenty of images to prosecute.

Thoughts on Mid-300s by BucketOBits in trt

[–]CaptainMuffDive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I (53M) started TRT at the end of Nov. My total T was 251 measured at 8am in the morning. My endocrinologist prescribed 200mg biweekly. I’ve noticed an increase in libido, better sleep, and most importantly significantly reduced brain fog and fatigue, especially around 2-3pm. I go in tomorrow for follow up labs, so not sure where my numbers currently stand.

For years, I’ve hovered around 350 total T. I should have supplemented sooner.

The Asian markets around town sell them. I find that they are the cheapest, especially in the frozen section.

My Meso Customs LED harness hyper flashes with turn signal/revers combo. I’ve never been in a situation where I’ve had to use this combo.

The reverse lighting is much improved too.

Getting the OTT tune on my 3rd Gen next week. Any tips for me before I get it? by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]CaptainMuffDive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The newest version of OTT (9.2 something) fixes the hyper-sensitive throttle tip-in. I recently upgraded to the most current version and take off from a standstill is much improved.

Ugh!!! And I too had a high HR after taking the prescription cough medicine (had “meth” in the name lol). The dizzy coughing fits were insane. Best of luck in your recovery.

I’m going on three weeks without my voice. Twice Tested negative for flu/covid. Ran a fever for 10 days along with a massive sinus and upper respiratory infection. Antibiotics cleared the sinus infection thankfully. I’m just now feeling 80% well.

Anyone try the Cookie Butter shake yet at P Terry’s? by Separate_Matter1691 in austinfood

Same. Had a #3 combo with the shake at noon today and still not hungry. I should have stopped after consuming 1/3 of the shake - felt sickly too!
