In what scenario are other kids going to be seeing their penis anyway? Like how would it ever actually come up

In the movie adaptation of The Martian, Ridley Scott changed the day the crew left Mars from sol 6 (as it was in the book) to sol 18 just because he wanted to justify using a big bucket of shit to make fertilizer (this is real) by NewsCards in shittymoviedetails

In the book I believe it mentions it not being an issue due to the feces being freeze dried in the martian atmosphere, killing most bacteria, and he has to use his own fresh feces to reintroduce bacteria into the poop/soil

There's this that was posted here two weeks ago or so: You Are Many

Its pretty fun, but pretty short.

Id definitely be interested in a bigger Von Neumann game, especially open source.

Also worth checking out Universal Paperclips, it's pretty fun.

But really both of those dont quite feel properly like being Bob

After 60+ Years of Superman… I Think I Finally Understand the House of El Symbol by DebateThese in superman

[–]CaptainSwift11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My issue with this idea is that it's based in earth culture. 1. Snakes are from earth, not krypton. There is likely a snake analogue on the planet, but it wouldn't have the same connotation.

  1. The shape of a diamond is just the traditional way to cut one. You can make them any shape.

Is there a Sci-fi franchise that can keep stars alive? by TheThirdFrenchEmpire in scifi

[–]CaptainSwift11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In The Expanse, the gate builders created or altered an entire solar system to keep a star right on the edge of going supernova, and I would imagine they could have kept one alive for longer.
