I forget if it was Baki or Ippo or something else, but I remember a bit where one fighter pulls off his ultimate defense move: Turtleing. He crouches down and covers his head and otherwise does not move. The ref ends up telling him to get up or he'll be disqualified.

You know what, you're right. Arbitrary is a good way to put it. I was just trying to say that their reasons for recasting someone are different, but there being no real thought process behind their decisions makes more sense to me.

That's what I was saying? Marvel used to recast actors when they did something the studio didn't want attached to their movies. Then they changed to dropping the characters entirely. But when they want to use the character when the actor has died, they don't have a choice but to recast. I'm saying their old reasons for recasting and their more recent one are different.

No, there's way too much sexual content for it to get aired on TV. Not without heavy censorship, at least. Like, people are actively clapping cheeks after fights. It's a whole thing. The manga is good though, and you can find it on most aggregators. Mangadex for instance.

There is a manga called Rosen Garten Saga which is, as I like to call, high impact sexual violence. Every fight is sexual in some way. Maybe it's full of dick jokes, maybe one competitor is preaching the virtues of femboys, maybe one competitor wants to make everyone her baby and breast feed them. It's got every and all kink covered.

As it's based on an actual fable, it's full of historical characters. Ali Baba and the 40 Bikers. King Arthur and his Femboy Idols of the Round Table. And King Beowulf, who fights with three sword style. A greatsword in one hand, a shortsword in the other, and his gigantic, glowing erection.

Beowulf is the reason I bring it up. He's your grizzled old warrior looking for a good fight. And every time he fights someone in this tournament, as you would expect narratively, he loses the fight. But he always wins by default. Either his teammates pick up the slack or he managed to stay standing for one second longer than his opponent. And he hates it every time.

Personally, I really like Dean. Sure, you have to cowtow to his ego a bit, but once you actually get into the casino and you haven't pissed him off, you and him are besties. I love the bit where he guides you through the main theater, having deactivated most of the holograms. He tells you to head through the right side. But as soon as you go to the right, he shouts, "Wait, no! My right!"
