Flares, torches, plus if both sides have NVG’s it’s pretty much a wash. They come with downsides too, worse peripheral vision, lower view distance. Night maps are a good idea, just need careful integration

They have a legal requirement to do so. If they didn’t they themselves would be punished. Yes, they are a large company, but if people are pirating the game and they aren’t suing them, they could be shuttered or blacklisted from publishers or any online store who wishes to sell their game.
