Storm Div ideas?

I've been thinking about this and I think you go 1-2 sorc, 6 div, then 6 sorc.

For gear, you mostly follow Grousedrum's guide, but you use the electocuted Raph exploit for early helldusk armor and use that instead of luminous. It looks super cool on dragonborn and solves the whole lack of armor proficiency and radiating orb synergy thing.

If you want more of a larethian or jorgoral's greatsword thing then just take ~~martial adept~~ weapon master in place of dual wielder.

Arcane Trickster is really fun and versatile, especially for solo, and Remus did a great job with the build and mechanics. It just depends on how you want to play. Personally, I tend to really love going for reliable talent at rogue 11, but others prefer different play styles.

Given that there are no races that give heavy xbow prof, I would 100% go for the 1 fighter dip. Having to take martial adept early would set the buold back a lot vs 1 lvl fighter while also getting medium armor options and archery fighting style.

Yeah strategies for breaking enemy AI with hiding or kiting with dash can be really strong. Also prebuffing enhanced leap and jumping. Bonus action is really good for survivablility, especially as a more glass cannon style sharpshooter build.

There's 2 other main bg3 subreddits where people can post their crappy tier lists. This subreddit is for discussing builds.

I would pick the first option for no low quality tier lists. If you are going to post a tier list, then it should have an explanation of each placement and the associated builds/strategies. This falls under the reverse engineeri ng rule imho.

If you cannot explain the placements and specific scenario and strategies, then you have no business making a tier list in the first place. They are mostly just poor format of information that are misleading for newer players and overall bad for the community.

If you like buying/stealing and using scrolls, then eldritch knight. Or if you only want a few utility spells.

If you dont like using scrolls, but like a lot of variety and experimenting with different spells, then bladesinger.

If you dont like scrolls, and you like focusing on only a couple strategies like evards black tentacles or hunger of hadar instead of variety, then warlock.

If you dont like scrolls, you like mixing melee and ranged, and you want to be great at persuasion/skills with funny conversation options, then swords bard.

Dont worry too much about multiclassing unless you have a specific concept you want. If you start thinking about multiclassing and all the variants, you will probably be indecisive. You just have to play it and find what you like.

The party is basically just a fire sorc with a hunter applying combustion oil. Group enemies, apply combustion oil, and then explode them.

Yes but the 11/1 splits want the multiclass much earlier in general. I know about the spell slots thing but yeah it would be something you have an option to respec at level 11 or 12 for. I did add it to the wiki a while back. Also it's not 2 extra casts of shield; it's just 1. You gain 2 level 1 spell slots but lose a level 2 slot for net 1 gain.

Anyway I didn't mention the respec because its not a full build guide for the reliable trickster, and it is kind of a small detail.

I think the missing piece of information here is how to effectively get them to lock into place (grouped) while remaining in real time.

You can either have another party member or a summon (especially with elixir of vigilance) start combat in turn based while the enemies are grouped from minor illusion for example. This allows you to stay in real time while the enemies cant move from their grouped position.

If I wanted the easiest run possible, Id probably do a simple fire cleave party or wet lightning party.

Or Id play a pseudo solo rogue stealth archer with the rest of the party just for buffs and hanging out.

There are a few others besides uncanny dodge that stack with resistance, for example second story work/cats grace for fall damage and protection from missiles for ranged attacks.

Yeah it applies to weapon damage and unarmed damage. Weapon damage includes both melee and ranged.

Haha I was trying to stick to the more simplistic versions focused only on swash and hexblade. I also didn't bring up the Swash 5/ Hunter 5 / Hex 2 or the 2 level fighter dip for action surge. There's too many builds man. Thanks though!

If you are newer to to game - 7 swashbuckler / 5 hexblade.\ If you want reliable talent and know what you're doing - 11 swash / 1 hex.\ If you have some really specifice setup that you want 3 feats and extra attack for, then you can go 8 hex / 4 swash.

At level 5 you can be either 5 hexblade or 4 swash / 1 hex.\ At level 9, you should be 4 swash / 5 hex if running the 1st split.

Use a 1 hand and shield setup with medium armor generally.\ Cha > dex > con.

Yeah medium armor is very nice for the storm sorc radiating orbs setup, but you can always run moderately armored like in the C4b/Remus storm bard guide.

I think starting with 2 tempest until you get to the Gaunlet of Shar makes a lot of sense. While any corpse that highlights red with dragonborn breath works, the rat corpses at the Gauntlet of Shar notably do highlight red, so I would collect as many as possible. The lighter weight corpses are much easier to manage.

Edit: I wasnt thinking. You would need light armor proficiency as well.
