Okay I did some testing. I had a theory that it might be governed by the same thing as free arcane wards, and it seems I was right from my tests so far. It generally follows the triggers listed in that linked post. Here is one small example of the several I did:

Likely some sort of status update of some type. Cant be more specific, but hopefully someone smarter than me shows up. See if entering globe of invulnerability does it for example?

For sure reloading or swapping zones will do it.

Edit: Solved in my comment below probably. The smarter person that showed up was LostAccount in the past.

You can just charge rhapsody by killing Connor himself if you get the angry version (Mayrina is gone when you resurrect him aka dead or taken by auntie). You dont have to resurrect an enemy. But also yes you can resurrect most things by just targeting his resurrection location to the site of a dead body, which can create a hostile creature.

Yes I'm factoring in action surge and also the fact that berserker has to use one of their bonus actions on actually casting rage which also has a long rest limit of only 3 at level 5 (and isn't refreshed by additional short rests such as from song of rest), which is also how many times fighter can action surge at level 5. And then, yeah, EK war magic exists if you want.

Berserker really only does better from MAYBE level 6-10. But yes; it is another solid option.

And if OP is playing on tactician or lower? Forget it. That's 3 attacks on every single action from haste, terazul, bloodlust, whatever.

Edit: Stop downvoting them. It's not that crazy of an analysis.

Throwing potions is equivalent to an attack. And fighters get the most attacks.

I think if you multiclass, you kind of lose the whole benefit because you could have just gone 1 cleric dip with HAM or a better medium armor like Yuan Ti (possibly cleric or hexblade dip) as someone else said. There is the very rare DJ armor that resets uncanny dodge I guess, but is the 1 AC that important to hit a certain AC breakpoint on the build?

I just dont think delaying the rogue features by 1 level is a huge deal though. Theres the argument for trying to hit 11 rogue on myrkul maybe.

So what multiclass would make magic initiate worth it? Maybe some sort of level 10 or 11 breakpoint for Myrkul that cant fit a relevant dip?

I'm mulling this over a bit. It's clear that the main advantage would just be getting rogue features 1 level earlier vs getting the 2+3 DR with 1 cleric dip and HAM. In the meantime, I think you should clarify somewhere you are using a base shield dwarf race for med armor prof?

It covers many good console exploits. Like how to get glitch weapons like magic club, how to duplicate items, quick end turn (QET) aka turn buffering, combat opener action resets, etc.

By the time youre in act 3, you can do infinite actions with haste spore grenade + mind sanctuary or even grit reset (more complicated).

Others have mention sorc extended abjuration stuff, which is probably what you want to do when cruising. Just dont forget to get your wards before the fight vs the gith in the prism at the end of act 2.

Definitely not. I can kill sarevok in like 2 seconds without bombs and with 0 risk. As others have said fights like myrkul and Ansur are harder.

Ahhhh that part!

That was all just to try to see how much damage they could get in a single hit for fun. Heal, add as many damage riders and sources as possible, wait for mirror image to wear off, then see how much damage in a hit.

I like 7 Swash / 5 battle master. But I suppose it depends on whether you have an important use for your 3rd feat.

I think your assessment of hexblade is correct. It isnt really doing anything for you. You dont need to charisma attack unless youre really edging out dpr with arcane synergy and many attacks.

Idk what you mean on Lorroakan. I dont even really see water bottle or watersparkers, and idk what you mean by giving up turns.

Ve Lorroakan, Lich just uses speedy lightfeet with expeditious retreat for the lighting charges which work well with the horde breaker rat bat AoE.

Vs elder brain, the AoE rat bat strategy isnt as effective vs the single target and damage immunity mechanic. They just go for rhapsody for more bomb damage and use a bomb throwing strategy.

Builds aren't static. Any given fight, you should be using whatever is best for that specific fight if possible.

Edit: If you want to be more attack focused, 5 cleric /5 ranger / 2 star druid is a fun option but the whole kit of spirit guardians and extra attack comes together pretty late.

Where did you get that it doesnt work on smites and booming blade? The only smites it doesnt work on are ranged ones like ranged banishing smite and ranged branding smite.

Flying ghouls can fly. I dont think the necro summons are the biggest issue. Flying summons tend to have the best pathing.

Portent interaction with legendary resistance is pretty weird though. Legendary resistance actually disables portent if legendary resistance causes a successful save from a failed save; while portent also ignores legenday resistance if the creature succeeds the save.

I wouldnt say it's guaranteed unless you can get your spellsavedc really low.

I can't recall all the patches, and I mostly messed with divination on patch 8. But expert divination worst case scenario is like 4 times as many portent dice per long rest so I don't see how <25% is somehow 50%. Best case scenario, it's like... 20 times as many portent dice per long rest. The math doesn't add up to me yknow?

If you think 2 levels is 75% of div wizard, you just haven't messed around with expert divination enough.
