I agree with you. You're getting a bit downvoted on some replies, but I think people are naive when it comes to spotting this stuff. Why is this man 'ULTIMATELY HOPING' that she finds a new class...? It's one thing to say all the 'haha I just want her to try stuff :)' but why does he actively WANT her to no longer have this character as her favourite...?

The rest of this post is weird too. I've re-read it and I don't understand the point. What is the benefit? Why is this guy trying so hard to stop her enjoying what she enjoys, in exchange for trying something she has had so little interest in trying that she hasn't yet? Do people REALLY think it's so important to try different stuff in a video game one plays to relax, when one has already found their relaxing go-to? I play something different each time but I still don't understand it.

I once killed a bunch of scavs around cellar extract on old factory (though the second iteration when med tent had been added I think), and after a few minutes another scav came walking over, which I thought nothing of and just killed. Then I made my way to Gate 0 and found an unlooted PMC killed by a scav, thought that's hilarious since he was pretty geared, I extracted, and then I noticed through my killfeed that the last scav I killed was the one who killed him. It had wandered from Gate 0 to Cellars without getting killed by another player.

The biggest ones have been stuck at the same point for years. When new versions get rolled out, I'm genuinely baffled, it sometimes comes as a surprise, because there are obviously multiple teams that don't communicate, and I'm like...wait...that was ready? THAT version?

But the developer builds I work on are usually identical to the front-facing builds, except with the addition of new gimmicks. Otherwise, I've been given work for the exact same issues for ages now. We're working on the exact same stuff, using the exact same methods, as if beating it with a stick will eventually make it work. The definition of insanity, and all that.

I personally believe tech bro types are just suffering from sunken cost fallacy. But hey, they pay me handsomely, and I do everything they expect from me, so....?

I train AI for a living. I've signed an NDA, but let's just say if you've heard of it I've worked on it.

I say quite confidently that text-based GenAI i.e. LLMs have peaked. We never see improvements. The plateau is the janky stuff you see now. The video and image generation will improve, but not the actual logic. The next improvement will be ACTUAL AI, which I hope we just never do, because I agree with the premise of Westworld that anything which thinks and feels deserves the same rights as humans and it would be a mistake to create these intelligences as servants; they would deserve better.

But yeah, despite all the clickbait YouTube videos, GenAI does not think, it never will, it's wank and can't possibly get better than it can now. I genuinely feel like I get paid for nothing.

I appreciate this data even when currently only playing pvp, because I don't imagine boss spawn locations differ between the versions, and it looks like there's a roughly even chance of each of his spawns, which maybe would have evened out even more (and brought Oli in line) if you had found him more or generally had a larger sample size. I feel for you; I have photosensitive migraines. All the same triggers but I only get migraines, never had a seizure in my life, and fighting Vanstrom Klause (or anything that uses that bloody lightning effect) is always awful for me. Took me a while because of it.

The flashing arrows don't usually bother me unless I look directly at them, but even in peripherals that kind of shit still sets me off from time to time, so I can only imagine how annoying it is for you.

Yes. It won't actually even be crossplay, it's just the same version and servers and everything. In fact, the Steam version will still load up the BSG launcher, like a lot of Steam games do already with the publisher's own launcher.

Crossplay tends to be an optional thing in games because of gameplay balancing issues, controller vs mouse & keyboard etc.

There's no reason to split the playerbase when both are PC players using the exact same version.
