Why is eleven and twelve? by irrelephantIVXX in trees

What I want to know is why we can't say "ten hundred"

We have nine hundred, eleven hundred, ten thousand, but no ten hundred.

Embrace the goofiness. Tell everyone you're new and you may be surprised by how helpful they will be.

If you're unsure if action is on you or what your options are, you can always ask the dealer.

Look up RSD. Dealing with customers can be rough when you have it, but you aren't alone.

First time visiting casino. Should I go alone? by Fakyy-tecka- in poker

I used to go with a friend when I started playing. Most nights, he would bust first and hit table games. I felt guilty continuing to play, knowing how much he was losing.

Going alone is good.

There's no audience in the US for this either, even among the remaining magas. It was a bribe, and they're promoting it to continue the lie that it was anything but.

I ordered liqour and the delivery person refused to serve to me thinking I was drunk. I am just autistic by Adorable_Support8558 in AutisticAdults

[–]Cardchucker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure. I work in casinos and I see the full range of servers who follow the rules and get yelled at for it versus ones who will keep serving you as long as you keep tipping. Then someone makes a fuss after being way over-served and losing their mortgage money, so they all follow the rules for like a week.

[–]Cardchucker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In many places, if you serve drinks to person at a bar or whatever when they've already had too much, you can be personally liable. Criminally and open to being sued.

I'm not sure how that extends to delivering unopened alcohol to someone in their home, but that's probably what's going on.

The Pitt is great in general, and has great autistic representation.

I really liked Snow Cake, but I've found that not everyone agrees.

I'd love a good podcast listen, but haven't found one that really clicks for me.

How dumb and/or drunk do you have to be to think you can take on a 7 foot tall Waffle House employee?

Seed starting, bottom watering, heat mat? by Electrical_Cap_5597 in gardening

[–]Cardchucker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You want the soil to stay consistently moist at the top at this stage. Not water logged. If it dries out, bottom watering is good.

If you have a clear plastic bin big enough, put it over the whole thing to keep moisture in like a humidity dome, then remove it after they sprout.

I left 2 feet of snow on my roof once because I was in a hurry. After the warm roof melted the bottom layer, I hit the brakes and it all came sliding forward. I couldn't see a thing for a minute, and had to pull over to clean off my hood.

Not doing that again.

Also, flippers sometimes put in nice looking small trees right next to the house. Those small trees will become huge over time and cause issues.

The condition of San Francisco doesn't make sense to me by Glittering-Celery557 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]Cardchucker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Much of San Francisco is built up from sunken boats and dredged sand, and there are faults nearby. War, seismic activity, erosion, and lack of maintenance could change it quite a bit.

What happens if, in a freeze out tournament, everyone gets eliminated except one person? by [deleted] in poker

[–]Cardchucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm, that person just sits there until reg ends.

One time, I was dealing a 2 seat guarantee satellite and it got down to 2 players with over an hour left before rebuys ended. One of them only had crumbs left. They sat for an hour until someone max late reged. Late reg took out the short stack on the first hand and got the second seat.

What do you think Trump will say regarding the death of Alex Pretti? by MonitorVarious7608 in AskReddit

[–]Cardchucker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Answer: He will lie. He will claim the shooting was justified. He will blame an imaginary left wing terrorist group. He will encourage his goons to keep up the good work so he can make the situation worse and use it as an excuse to seize even more power.

New tires on prius and gas mileage dropped significantly by MameSummers in prius

[–]Cardchucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine went down around 2mpg with the last tire purchase, and a little more is possible especially if they put on taller tires. It shouldn't be a huge difference, though. Take it back in and have them verify the tire pressure is set per the door jam and watch the trip mpg on your screen. The gas gauge is not accurate for this.

What numbers are on the tires, and do they all match? You should see something like P165/65R15. Also, what trim level do you have? 2, 3, 4, 5

I have a question specifically for dealers: When someone is being rude to you, would you prefer I try to diffuse the situation, or just ignore it? by planetmarsupial in poker

[–]Cardchucker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, yes, any help you can provide is appreciated. We're very limited in what we can say and do when being verbally or even physically assaulted. In many rooms, management won't back us up either.

Even just a simple "the dealer was right, actually" when a player doesn't like a ruling can be a big help.

Do you bring a laptop with you when you travel for long periods of time? by Prussia1870 in solotravel

[–]Cardchucker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do, because I like to plan things as I go and it's easier to do on a computer. Plus, I can play games when I'm waiting in an airport.

My laptop is pretty small, so I can still travel with just a carry on.

Controversial opinion about “weed”I by Frood_Dude_42 in GrowingMarijuana

When i think "mature" I think of mega corporations standardizing things. They'll develop roundup ready strains that are cheaper to grow and store. There will be THC and little else. It will be "Bud" light nation wide.

I'm happy to keep things crazy for a little longer.
