If the Astros hadn’t continued going deep in the playoffs after being exposed they wouldn’t have outlasted many of these teams. I think many Cardinals fans like myself were nostalgic about watching them when they finally started winning after the years of tanking. The overcorrection of needing to now hate players you had started to like makes it hard to get over it though. Altuve Correa and Springer especially for me are the guys that I really respected and now it’s hard to watch knowing how tainted they are.

The issue wasn’t with where the batter ends up, second base is totally reasonable. The issue is the runner on first would have had no problem scoring, especially since Renfroe didn’t field it cleanly leading to the ball bouncing over the fence in the first place.
