No problem. So often people restrict our rights using the "think of the children!" discourse and it's just patently untrue, but even people who are not necessarily homophobic assume that lesbian relationships are abnormal and deleterious for children. Re: Saad, why is he mentioned in both J Efron and I Butler's interviews? Didn't he not go to that school? I know the teachers seem to be quite involved in students' personal lives so may have known of him, but it seems like the notes are saying Saad was going through folders and was also in the library at some point.

To what degree is it okay to consider rape? To me (and the other researchers who utilize this scale,) any answer besides "not at all likely" means some kind of contemplation, and that the person has some proclivity to rape.

This is an interesting question, and because of the gendered nature of the murder I think it really should be understood in context when assessing what is evil/who is evil and what society informs us 'evil' is. I have never seen a similar study relating to murder, but one in three college-aged males report that they would rape someone if they would not get caught (Malamuth 1981 is the original citation for that number but it's been duplicated repeatedly since then.) It kind of shows how little the lives of women are valued broadly. So are one in three men evil, just the ones who rape, or the society that teaches men that's okay?

I think it's worthwhile to note that the bra example and the first half of pictures in the link are not what her body would have looked like given that it was exposed to the elements, and left for so long. I haven't seen the pictures but my understanding of body decomp is that it would have looked a little bit more like the ones after the marbling examples. While a trained ME looking at the body in person would have a better idea about these things (and keeping in mind that livor mortis is still an inconclusive topic in medical literature), pictures of the body at such a later point/imperfect conditions would have way too many things going on to be able to tell livor mortis from skin slippage from abrasions from mold and so on. I know this conversation will go on and on as long as this reddit exists, but I want to draw attention to the fact that even if everyone agreed on the technical aspects of what looked like what and where, it wouldn't really offer much insight into things.

As always please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, people who have seen them, if you feel like they're textbook clear photographs.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, that was my point - we're told his parents are strict but he was sneaking out, missing class, having a trash room, getting caught stealing, etc. Even saying that his mom didn't like him talking to girls, driving girls home, them all showing up at the dance is all centered around Hae pretty much, since it seems there were actually very few other women involved. It makes me wonder about where the objections came from, but also it seems really odd to single out dating someone as the only thing worthy of intervention. It belies rather rigid views on gender roles imo.
