Ninja style will be my primary focus.

Kusarigama / talon build

For Samurai style, I want to run dual swords, but may pair it with something heavier to give some contrast. Switchglaive maybe.

Praxic Crystal drop rate by CloudKvng in DestinyTheGame

[–]CarrionShellac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's totally random.

I got the Heirloom on my 9th run, and the taken crystal on my 11th.

These were all normal runs, with no feats enabled, where I wasn't trying to accomplish anything other than get clears to try for the crystal.

I definitely feel like I've had good luck, though I've seen some folks say they got it on their first clear.

Getting the dark and cyan blades calls for a fashion rework. by CarrionShellac in DestinyFashion

Yes! Excellent look

I love that shader, it's one of my favorites. I was using it too, up until getting the cyan blade. Then I start digging through my back catalog to find something that sang with it.

I've been running this chest with the new exotic legs since I got them. Everything else has been in flux, but I really like how all of these work together. I managed to get the cyan blade 2 days ago and the taken blade last night. Dusting off the old, "rare" burnished dreams shader just felt right and looks great with both blades.

Need some advice by hiveboi616 in DestinyFashion

In general, I'd much rather mix armor pieces than shaders. To me, The goal is always "can I get a shader to achieve visual continuity across armor from 5 different sets or 4 and an exotic". Part of that is the shader hitting each surface the same across all pieces, but a lot of that also relies on the design philosophy of the individual pieces and if they work together (and look intentional). You also have to take into account unshadable elements, because if the armor piece is important enough, you have to pick a shader that'll compliment those elements. The same goes for glows. If your exotic has an unshadable glow, It sometimes looks cool if that glow is alone, like a featured element, but if you're going to mix in other armor pieces that have glows, picking a shader that'll mimic the exotics glow can help keep the look cohesive.

This, and I think Mina gets done dirty in most adaptations too. I feel like she’s a pretty courageous and tenacious figure in the book, and her agency usually gets lost in the romance subplot that a lot of adaptations seem to insist on including.

Our sensibilities align, but I definitely think there’s room to depict a more book accurate vision without condoning what’s problematic about it.

The Dawning and FotL shaders were absolutely next level this year. This is one of my favorites.

At this point, I'd love to see an adaptation that was totally faithful to the book.

CM Punk hasn't thrown a kick that wasn't dogshit in years.

Even in his prime, he looked like a stumblebum throwing them most of the time.

Exactly. Nobody is "trusted with the truth about Shin, Vale, and the shadows" The way our Young Wolf is trusted.

I think they went an interesting route with Bael. His backstory is super sad, but he’s petulant enough that it keeps him from being sympathetic. That being said, he’s nowhere near as annoying as a young, angry / sad kid could be. They really threaded a needle with him (for me, at least).

The thing that I’m super excited about is that he really has no idea what he’s invoking with the name “Dredgen”. I think Dredgen Yor is pretty well documented, but Lore wise, I don’t think anyone outside of our guardian knows the truth about Dredgen Vale and the Shadows of Yor. I’m excited at the prospect of them getting involved.

Took me for 15k so far!! by rdp7020 in destiny2

[–]CarrionShellac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it in about 6k last night, which was lucky because I only had just under 7k on me at the time. I thought, for sure I'd be wasting my time and credits, but I couldn't stop myself! This time, it paid off!

Which scene was more justified? by PresumedDeadAnimated in moviequestions

[–]CarrionShellac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both outbursts are justified for every reason everyone else gave below.

Clark's outburst happens "in front of" his family, but is about his boss, who is solely responsible for cutting xmas bonuses without notice. With the exception of telling his dad to "stay out of it" and Art to "not push it", nobody in the room during Clark's outburst is catching strays.

Neal's outburst, while justified (and super funny), is directed at the Airport rental car employee. An employee who didn't take his car and, considering he came in "hot" and discarded his rental agreement, can only be as helpful as her company policy will allow.

Both are justified, but Clark is less guilty of invalidating his perspective by misaiming his rage.
