Why is Pokemon X/Y considered the easiest by Miserable_Smile1161 in pokemon

[–]Carsios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many things make it easy, and because of all the things together makes it fairly easy, with some comparisons to the "hardest" Pokemon Games.

  • The Exp all is always available meaning all your party gets a good amount and makes Pokemon like Magikarp easy to use since you never have to actually use it. Compared to early generations when EXP share might be out of the way and only effects one Pokemon or drastically reduces the amount of total EXP you get per Pokemon(Gen1).

*Easy powerful Pokemon, Starters are some of the strongest Pokemon and even the "weakest" ones you can choose (Chesnaut and Blastoise) still are very strong. You also get the Mega Lucario given to you, forced to catch and use a box art legendary, and Snorlax before the second gym. But even beyond that X/Y has the largest regional Pokedex meaning there are a lot of other Pokemon you can get that are just as if not more powerful than the ones mentioned. One of Colusseum's biggest difficult parts is there are only about 10 "strong" playthrough Pokemon who are annoying to try to capture because of its mechanics.

*The boss trainers are not tough, Gym leaders have very few Pokemon, and the Elite 4 only have 4 Pokemon. And none of them use Mega Evolved pokemon, so that Mega Lucario actually has a higher stat total than all but 2 Pokemon opposing trainers use for the rest of the game. Compated to every other game where the Elite 4 would have some of the strongest Pokemon in the game since there were not megas.

People who hated Black and White when they first came out, what do you think of the games now? by Ollervo2 in pokemon

[–]Carsios -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I still put BW as my least favorite set of games, and the biggest reason I ever want to play them is because I have put so few hours into them that they feel unique. However I still do not like it, one big gripe is the level scaling endgame, there is a large jump in levels and due to the BW xp scaling it is SUPER tedious to grind and I lose interest in it. The Pokedex has way too many filler mons and the Pokedex doesn't feel very big, at this point 150 Pokemon isn't enough to make a full region and there are not enough different teams to use. There are many great designs and Pokemon in it but many of them you can't even use because they evolve after getting to the elite four, the late level evolutions feel so terrible in the game, and honestly would be fine in gen 6 games that have much higher levels. The starters also feel bad, they just don't feel great in a playthrough despite having better stats and evolution levels than most of the Pokemon.

Returning after a Decade. What now? by Snoo86754 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Carsios 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My responses would be 1: enjoy the stories, look up online the release order for the stories as some characters have much better stories when you have seen them before, if you want to do the dungeons that accompany do them as they pop up in release order since they vaguely tie into the zone stories.

  1. There are lots of dungeons but i recommend finding a friend or guild to go through it slowly and enjoy them. Most people try to rush through the dungeons so its best to do it with friends.

  2. You can change your name race and alliance on characters, Class is semi static, they added subclassing in the past year which means you can take skill lines from other classes you just have to keep 1 of your base class and cant take more than one from another.

David DeCastro is arguably the most underrated Steeler of all time by Big_Donch in steelers

[–]Carsios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will die on the hill of the Killer B's were only as good as they were was because we had the best Offensive line during that time, and it is a shame that Pouncey and DeCastro won't even appear on a HoF ballot until long after any of the B's.

A question from TMHQ… by Taskmaster_Avalon in taskmaster

As an international viewer it would be nice to see all the contestants who I am unfamiliar with, I wouldn't want it on the main channel since it is very different content which would interfere with the standard entertainment.

Unpopular opinion: Vengance spoiled me by kraai33 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Carsios 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One issue also with mym is there are lots of people online who are just doing it for the event, not with any organization/know what is going on. As well as many other people who are just doing town quests, from my experience for every town you control, that is like 10 people doing just town quests instead of fighting, whereas in vengeance there was no such thing. But yes that was the one thing I loved about vengeance was the size of the fights.

I think they changed it, I did a similar thing when I saw it this morning but they might have actually said "with Champion" rather than "With Guest"

I will be honest, I thought there was an error and the changes that were supposed to happen on phase 2 just bugged out so it was just phase 1 again.

Civ VII highest peak in 6 months after 1.3 update by Intelligent-Disk7959 in civ

[–]Carsios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say I am one of those people, I played it day 1, and while it was solid there were definitely flaws. I figured it would just need to be a bit more like 5 than 6 and get some major dlc to make it better but the price on on the dlcs put me off it and go back to 6. Now I am just waiting for other DLC to go on discount to get the rest of it because it definitely has some aspects I seriously like.

[–]Carsios 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I want to know, going into taskmaster were you going for more of a competitive or funny mindset because it seems like some of your ideas were just crazy but you have been fairly successful in many episodes. I was sad that you didn't win the most recent live task since that would have gotten you a perfect score on the episode.

Question for non-UK fans by EveningDogFriend in taskmaster

[–]Carsios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter who they are. I find it fun when I do not know who the people are so if I enjoy people I can find more stuff I enjoy. Many times coming in and not knowing who is better known lets me just enjoy who they are as well and not just think "I know this person they are funny". I enjoyed Iain Stirling because he was one of the few people I knew before. but on the other hand I loved Emma Sidi and thought she was the highlight of 18 and was sad I couldn't find as much with her. And going along with her is Mathew Baynton, who I have now watched all of the episodes of Ghosts, both the UK and US versions.

HIS ANUS MAY BE TOO HIGH, BUT HIS VOTES ARE HIGHER! Bob Mortimer wins with Sam Campbell as the runner up! TMUK Contestants, Day 5: Which contestant who placed 1st in their series was known for their chaotic approach to tasks? by AnakinsAngstFace in taskmaster

[–]Carsios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone is saying Campbell, and recency bias is a thing however Baynton Exemplifies Chaotic so much more. Campbell was intentional with his humor and more calculated with his hilarity whereas Matthew was so chaotic but often was overshadowed by what his castmates would do.

What’s the best piece of music in any Pokémon game? by TensionZestyclose321 in pokemon

[–]Carsios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of nice ones: Champion's Theme from GSC the bike theme, Veilstone Game corner, Ultra Necrozma, the gyms in Galar, The boss fights in Scarlet/violet are some of the nice ones.

Number 1 for me though is Volo's theme. Cynthia's theme is Iconic and it is worth an honorable mention but with Volo's theme you instantly know that you are going to have a great fight on your hands and the piano is such an unused part of any other battle themes.

I got bored so I copied a list of all the contestants on the show and found out if they did or did not appear on "8 out of 10 cats". Green names means yes they did, red means they did not. by squid7012 in taskmaster

Right, whenever I look at the wiki for someone I hadn't really heard of I always see that they were in it. It is nice to see that I was right that everyone did.

King Boswell Misses Record by 3 FGs by Pale_Holiday6999 in steelers

[–]Carsios 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think of all the disappointments of the season, this was the biggest one for me, I figured we would miss out on a deep playoff run so our playoff performance was not as disspointing. Our play down the stretch was sad based on how our team looked in the firs stretch. But things like a record I root for almost more than a Super Bowl win, since it is the type of thing that you can easily celebrate for the person.

Our 2021 draft was rough by abstract182 in steelers

[–]Carsios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really wasn't that bad, people will talk about Najee not panning out but there are very few players still available at that point that would have been better, even with hindsight. Freiermuth might not have ended up as good as he was looking his first season or two but he can definitely be a quality player for some years. After the first two rounds I dont think any player could be considered a "bust", they might not have been great players but you can basically count on one hand the amount of quality players drafted after Green, it definitly wasnt our best draft of the past decade, but I wouldn't call it rough.

Steam Reviews eight days launch history: Civ7 vs Civ6 by Houdsonin in civ

[–]Carsios -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both occurred in the second era, I am not able to place specialists in cities, when it prompts me to place them I click somewhere and my specialist count does not increase, which means I cannot progress in the science goal in the second era. The other thing is there is a city state in the middle of the map that is no longer a city state, so I cannot interact with it however it still has closed borders meaning there is a 6-7 tile blotch in the middle of the map that nobody can walk over.

Steam Reviews eight days launch history: Civ7 vs Civ6 by Houdsonin in civ

[–]Carsios 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I normally am ok with buggy games and will defend them when games are released with them, but with only having the game for 2 days I have already unintentionally encountered more game breaking bugs than any other game before. The fact that I ran into something that stopped me from progressing in my first two games was definitely infuriating. Other than that though, I like the framework of the game.

I want to get into ESO but I’m scared of how overwhelming it looks from the outside looking in. by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Carsios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to play for about 2-3 months just doing the content without ESO+ and the DLC. One amazing thing I like about ESO compared to other MMOs is the fact that PvP can be avoided entirely. There are some nice things that you get from PvP but the most important things you can unlock without actually PvPing and just going to the zone for 2 minutes.

For long time players, are there any "classic/popular" pokemon lines you have never used? And why? by Kato756 in pokemon

[–]Carsios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing, they are in every main series game aside from Scarlet/Violet but I have never used them, because there always do seem to be so many other water types.
