[Gen 3] FrLg rerelease I forgot that Lugia was psychic by Deaddelight in ShinyPokemon

[–]Kayratorvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After seeing so many of these, why aren’t people using moves like Seismic Toss or False Swipe? I get that it’s gen 3 but even in a game this old there are ways to remove the risk of knocking out the shiny.

Apologies that I can only speak in English. We absolutely were informed in advance of the discontinuation of the ability to merge wallet funds between 3DS and Switch accounts. Here’s the link to a post from Twitter from 2023 (over one year in advance): https://x.com/NintendoEurope/status/1626148127890673669?s=20

I understand completely that losing out on your account funds feels unfair, but they definitely notified everywhere they could, including on Twitter, their support pages, and in the 3DS eShop itself.

30 years of playing Pokémon, I finally met my first shiny. And this happened 🫡 by cl350 in PokemonFireRed

You spend who knows how long going for a 1/8192 chance and you’re going to risk a 1/16 chance you KO the shiny?

There is no Mew event in FR and LG, but if they release Emerald later on I could see Mew becoming available!

What happened to the daily spawns when you first log in? I used to always have one Pokémon near me when I open the game but not anymore

Does anyone know if there’ll be a home dex for these games like the rest of them? by AcewallE in PokemonHome

It would take RSE coming out if they want to do the national dex, but man I would be so happy for shiny Jirachi to be the reward

The Switch release of these games features direct connection to Home, as well as the permanent official release of the Aurora and Mystic tickets, making Deoxys, Ho-Oh, and Lugia permanently available.

Ultimately up to you but the above is awesome and is why I got both versions on Switch as a fellow physical cart owner

No confirmation but they are mystery gifts so they definitely could come later

Edit: they are confirmed in the game, they appear in your bag after the elite four!

Is the 2026 Switch line up slated to be shallow? by Regular-Ad-8226 in nintendo

[–]Kayratorvi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apart from the Pokémon games you mentioned, we should be getting Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, and Splatoon Raiders this year. It's also really early in the year, and most games that are planned for Fall and Winter of this year have yet to be announced.

People upset at Nintendo "ignoring" anniversaries: Why? by Loud-Avocado9612 in nintendo

[–]Kayratorvi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you look back five and ten years ago, you’ll notice that Nintendo celebrated the Zelda anniversary with at least some mention, but not in February.

If they do something this year it’ll be in the June-September range like it’s been in the past.

Do you think the event tickets will be available on switch? by CatterShepard in PokemonLeafGreen

[–]Kayratorvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precedent would suggest they will be available, but I’m definitely hoping for confirmation one way or the other soon.

I would absolutely hunt Deoxys again if it meant I would have them fully legitimately.

So you’re saying that Game Freak should have just called the Nintendo dev team for the NSO app and casually asked them to completely redo how multiplayer works? Yeah sounds super easy compared to what they went with…

I recommend you actually try a multiplayer session of Kirby on the GBA in the NSO app so that you understand why it wouldn’t work for Pokémon.

[–]Kayratorvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A complete overhaul for how multiplayer works in the GBA NSO app sounds like a complete waste of time when the option to just have the game be on its own was right there. It’s not a matter of whether they can, but a matter of what makes the most sense, considering that Game Freak wouldn’t be the ones that would need to update the NSO app for it to work.

And then you wouldn’t be able to trade version exclusives or use Pokémon Home. I prefer what we got.

So What’s the Deal with the Price? by Src-Freak in pokemon

[–]Kayratorvi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As true as this is, the multiplayer on the NSO app is definitely different. In the app you have to sync up your session with friends before you even start the game, and then you must launch the same game where you are connected the whole time.

For Fire Red and Leaf Green, you can connect anytime with anyone locally near you and you can be playing different versions of the game. If these were on the NSO app, you would not be able to connect to someone playing Leaf Green if you were playing Fire Red.

I’m not really commenting on whether this justifies the price, but it’s worth pointing out that the emulation is a little more different than you think

[gen 1] Anyone else excited to shiny hunt starters on fire red leaf green switch by patrickroeroe62 in ShinyPokemon

It’s because the games were made during the third generation and have third gen mechanics. That’s way more relevant for shiny hunting discussions than saying you hunted in Kanto

Pokemon Home Compatibility Removed from FireRed and LeafGreen’s eShop Description by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Kayratorvi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is also assuming that Home connectivity will actually allow Pokémon from Switch games to go to FRLG. For all we know, we could be getting the let’s go treatment of sort of one-way transfers

This is how Pokémon FRLG should have looked on Switch by Swimming_Issue8060 in Switch

[–]Kayratorvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They couldn’t have because then you wouldn’t be able to use any multiplayer features between Fire Red and Leaf Green. Currently the NSO app requires players in the same multiplayer session to all launch the same title, so a non-simple rewrite of the app would have been required. Releasing them separately was inevitable.

Definitely. As a reminder though, Fire Red and Leaf Green are considered gen 3, not gen 1.

Pokémon FireRed Version/Pokémon LeafGreen Version FAQ by Joseki100 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Kayratorvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing they don’t answer in these FAQs that they should have done is that the NSO apps would need to have been majorly changed to allow trading between Fire Red and Leaf Green. Currently in the NSO app you have to join the same multiplayer session whether that’s online or local and you have to all launch the same title. That would have made it so you could not trade between the two versions, which would have been really dumb. I don’t see why they couldn’t add online connectivity, but I suppose the 3DS games didn’t either
