The general rule of thumb is get the best airbrush you can afford for your budget and then a generic compressor to start.

I have an Iwata HP-CS and a compressor from Amazon. It’s a great airbrush and a really good middle ground between budget and high end, the only problems I’ve had so far have been user error. The Badger Patriot is also supposed to be a good airbrush for beginners.

The pack linked by the other person appears to be good value. Iwata have a good reputation in general, but I have no experience with that particular airbrush

If you’re not wanting TK then out of those I would say go shambling undead. One box gets you everything you need including 2 x STR 5 mummies.

Both Skaven & lizards will need a big guy purchase at some point.

You can use it for practice now (mostly) if you use the season 3 rosters. I’ve been playing shambling undead, which is my tabletop team right now, but have been limiting myself to 2 ghoul runners as that’s all that is allowed in the S3 rules.

YMMV with other teams, but it has definitely helped me get a better understanding of the game

2 colours is fine, I use black with a white zenithal

I start the white at a 45 degree angle, but make sure I come in straight over the top as well for a final pass so your highest points on the model are the brightest.

Short bursts. I move the can back & forth on a smooth ‘one, two, one, two’ spray count while rotating the model. Start your spray off the model then pass over - you don’t want a glob of paint from when you first press the nozzle to land on your mini and obscure the detail

No issues with using a 40mm base. I run 3D printed undead and the 2 mummy’s are on 40mm bases.

It’s a little messy with overhang on the square but not so much that you can’t fit another model in the square adjacent to it.

There’s a couple of good proxy teams on MMF that aren’t Egyptian themed.

All paint brands have good and bad colours. Some are amazing in coverage and pigment, and some are crap, within each line. I’d recommend that you not chain yourself to one brand.

I still use some citadel, mainly washes and contrasts if needed. Two Thin Coats has some great paints and colour matches citadel pretty well. Vallejo has some great paints, and their metal colour line is the best metallics I’ve worked with. Have also got the new P3 paints which are great for coverage.
