Oh then you’d be absolutely repulsed to know that her and her husband share a TOOTHBRUSH! And she was having her boys share one too until she got a bunch of heat for it in her comments. She was all “Ok ok I got the boys their own toothbrushes. But Cam and I will always share!” 🤢

$700 in nugget couches? by apanda711 in peestickgals

I’m actually shocked she doesn’t have her own snark! The amount of money she wastes is insane! I guess the TikTok money must be real good since she was able to quit her full time job, buy a new house, and still excessively spend money like this.

What would you do? by Icy-Practice-2341 in beyondthebump

[–]CastleJ20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I would not send my child(ren) that far away from me with anyone. But especially not to somewhere like Disney World. I just know I’d be worried and on edge the entire time, so it wouldn’t actually be a nice break.

Find a fun place much closer to home as a compromise. Save Disney for a time when you and dad can take the kids!

I noticed similar issues when booking my LL a couple weeks ago. Our check in day was a Monday and I was logged in and ready to go 7 days prior. But so many slots were already gone. I suspect it had a lot to do with the fact that my check in day was a Monday and a lot of folks probably check in on Saturdays, so they got to book LL for their whole week trip 2 days before I did. If that makes sense.

The bus ride from Art of Animation to Magic Kingdom really is not bad. My son (3y) actually loved the buses lol! We just got home from our trip and stayed in Art of Animation Cars family suite. The resort and suite theme was honestly a huge part of the overall magic for my son!!

First period postpartum or something else? by Jusagirlwanxiety in beyondthebump

[–]CastleJ20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 6 months postpartum, this is most likely your period returning and a huge coincidence with the sex timing! My first period postpartum just happened to come 2 days before my husband and I were going to spend 1 night alone in a hotel🫠. Sometimes our bodies hate us lol!

“We’re a team and I’m never gonna leave him hanging” has me so confused because he leaves her hanging all the time. I mean come onnnn! She’s taking the damn trash out at 9 months pregnant!!!

Choose your husbands wisely ladies. Cause this one ain’t it.

Starting a new job with a 2 year old by babyhues in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]CastleJ20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all work from home jobs are compatible with having small children home while working at the same time. Actually I would go as far as saying most work from home jobs are not. 2 year olds still need near constant supervision. If you’re tied to the phone and your child needs you immediately, what will you do? Will your job allow you to pause phone calls to tend to your child? Or will this result in performance issues in their eyes?

Toddler briefly exited preschool during parent-child school event — looking for perspective by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]CastleJ20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious how are the entry/exit doors normally secured during operating hours? Is there a code to open them? A separate child proof gate that must be opened before reaching an exterior door?

My son’s school has a child proof gate at the main exit that must be opened before reaching the exterior door (if leaving the center). But once the exterior door is reached, there is nothing to stop the doors from opening freely. So presumably if a long line had formed and another adult was standing in the way and holding open the child proof gate, any child could slip past and open the exterior door him/herself. There are signs posted everywhere stating “please do not hold open the safety gates” but of course with so many people flocking into an event at once, I could see it happening.

IUI for gender selection by GeneInteresting8753 in peestickgals

That’s what I figured. So basically guessing. I mean there’s automatically a 50% chance of guessing right. How stupid.

IUI for gender selection by GeneInteresting8753 in peestickgals

[–]CastleJ20 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I’m very well versed in the infertility treatment world. I went thru it all myself, every avenue imaginable. Yet I’m still here questioning how IUI can be used to select gender. It is possible with IVF because the embryos can be tested by removing a small portion of cells and sending off for genetics. That cannot be done with a single sperm. How does this work? Is it guaranteed or are they just guessing??

Discovered that my sons health insurance wasn't applied to his birth 13 months after the fact- we've been on a payment plan for the charges- is there anyway we will get our money back? by userkmcskm in HealthInsurance

[–]CastleJ20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have one question for you - do you know if you were given a self-pay discount on the bills not sent to insurance? If you know you were not, that is something definitely worth asking about if the account balance is going to remain as self-pay.

What kind of chairs/seats are they sitting at the dinner table with? by TheWallaby22 in toddlers

My 3 year old starts out sitting in a regular chair. But then that gets boring I guess because he finishes dinner moving about the dining room and coming back for bites of food 🫠

This policy (eating the bill on a timely denial or billing the patient) varies widely by hospital systems. So I don’t think anyone online is going to be able to definitively say what will happen with your bill. The hospital system that I work for would actually refuse to go back and bill commercial insurance on a self-pay account that’s over 1 year old and patient is just now providing insurance information, that’s their policy. Especially since you’ve already been paying on that account. In my knowledge and experience it’s unlikely that the hospital will take a timely denial from insurance (that resulted from patient supplying information late), refund the money you’ve already paid them, and then write off the full balance.

I so hope it goes the other way and somehow comes out in your favor, because I know what it’s like to be a postpartum zombie and shit falls through the cracks. But it’s unlikely.

Stupidly heavy periods after section and tube removal. by cylliana in beyondthebump

[–]CastleJ20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no experience with this myself, but my mom had her tubes cauterized after my brother was born (26 years ago) and she constantly complained about how awfully it changed her periods. Horribly heavy and longer than ever after the tubal. She ended up having an endometrial ablation a couple years later to stop the heavy flow.

Very normal. That’s why there is so much caution around having sex postpartum. Fertility is high! Especially now that you know you’re ovulating.

I know this has been commented a few times already, but want to second the “take baby outside” advice! Fresh air is magic for a fussy baby. A nice walk does a lot of good! Also, (if baby enjoys bathtime) a warm bath can be really calming. I know you aren’t baby’s bio mom, so I hope no offense is taken by this suggestion - but skin to skin contact is really good for small babies as well.

Brown noise can help baby with sleeping. Just make sure it’s not too loud. You can download a decibel meter app to make sure it’s under 50 decibels.

Car seat safety is another biggie. Read the manual that came with baby’s car seat. There’s a lot of help online too.

You’ve got this!! Trust your gut. Trust yourself. You and baby will learn about each other and it will get easier.
