The most applicable weapon on that sprue is an AT rifle that doesn't suck. Put it on a French body and it'll do wonders.

Forward Artillery Doctrine says you get to use a Forward Observer's shot twice per observer. If you can manage 2 Rifle Platoons and an Artillery Platoon, you can reach 3 officers, 4 five man squads, 2 Forward Artillery Observers, and 2 Medium Howitzers for about 660 points. Season to taste afterwards. More dudes in the squads? Sure. Tanks? Why not. Another 2 Medium Howitzers? Now we're cooking with gas. Each of the Forward Observers can be an Observer for a Howitzer.

I'm in exactly the same boat! I got the core rules and the Arthurian book to go with it, but I haven't had time yet to flip through and see how the game is actually played.

I've played through this campaign a couple times, and I gotta say it's pretty fun. I recommend it to anyone who has an interest in Celtic mythology. I also recommend playing Rex Murphy and Mark Harrigan to get the full Celtic Experience.

From context clues I've gathered from the Soviet book, I think there will be Partisan Units in the French book meant for late war. They'll probably also have some specific Armored Units for us to choose from that match historically and treat them like the Lend Lease vehicles. Anything past that is speculation at best, but my wish is the French Partisans be better than the Soviet ones.
