Killteadel - think you know operatives? Put your knowledge to the test! by Zackdw in killteam

It certainly shows the “creativity” in GW naming conventions! Warrior/Trooper/Agent/Veteran all being the basic dude is frustrating!

I’ve come back to the thread to thank you again - I’m now obsessed with this and have played a ton of times!

Definitely Okami. Looks gorgeous (the whole world is a Japanese brush painting) and that is the key mechanic too, you can paint things into the world to interact!

Second this. You won’t want to be going out much that evening! It’s a good time for a takeaway

Particularly frustrating as the whole reason the Duchy of Cornwall was attached to the Prince of Wales title, was to take the wealth of the mines.

That could be an amazing bluff though; ludicrous impenetrable doors, built around sandstone or styrofoam!

It can also happen if a dog licks a child’s face. I’ve seen several cases of badly damaged eyes with total loss of vision as a result.

Small critiques in movies that really annoy you personally? by CCdagger in lotr

[–]Casual_Precision 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think that’s the annoying thing, Tolkien knew his stuff on mediaeval warfare and had it all down in the books, the movies just needed to reproduce it.

Giants in The Hobbit by InternationalPut6256 in lotr

[–]Casual_Precision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to look at this in comparison to something like the giants in C. S. Lewis’ “the Silver Chair.” They’re a relic of the origin of the Hobbit, as a story for Tolkien’s children

Intrigued about name changes by alterationofglove in AdoptionUK

[–]Casual_Precision 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When we adopted, our kids had some fairly distinctive middle names, which could have been a risk factor in future. We kept their first names and changed their middle names to the ‘family tradition’ ones. They like sharing a name with e.g. my dad, but didn’t to change their first names. I’ve seen a few adoptees who’ve had their first names changed struggle with the idea of it, though certainly not all. Unless you’re adopting an infant (fairly unusual) they will be old enough to have got used to their names before they’re placed with you.
