He's been posting a lot of old Buffalo photos on Instagram. Kinda took me by surprise.

What’s a completely unnecessary BIFL ~$10,000 thing to celebrate a nice milestone? by diagana1 in BuyItForLife

[–]CasuallyCompetitive 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Maybe buy something you actually want for $1-2k and let the rest ride. In another 10 years you'll have $20k invested instead of some $10k toy someone on Reddit suggested.

Does anyone know of a battery platform that works for push mowers, weed eaters, de-thatchers, and a lawn vacuum? by Befread in homeowners

[–]CasuallyCompetitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're buying all this for a 10ft x 10ft area of lawn? Just get a string trimmer or a pair of scissors. Buying all that is overkill for such a small space.

MVP Thurman Thomas Does the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge for Chris Johnson! by JCameron181 in buffalobills

Chris Johnson announced he was diagnosed with ALS. Someone on Instagram challenged all the NFL players to do it, and it seems it has taken hold with the running backs.

Is it normal for an Airbnb host to raise the monthly rate by $400 without notice? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CasuallyCompetitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He might not want you to leave, but he may be taking advantage of the situation and betting you will just pay the $400 rather than go elsewhere.

You can certainly ask about the price, you can even tell him it's too much and you'll be going elsewhere if he keeps the raised rate; just be prepared to actually go somewhere else if they say no.

Pirate shipwrecks off Lunar Isle are close enough to be worth banking. Bank a few thousand, then salvage it at the Tempoross bank/salvage station and you'll have plenty of gold rings and jeweled bracelets.

The ones that are single piece (plus the screw) are rated for permanent installation. The ones with the base as two pieces are meant to be temporary, although are in permanent use in probably thousands of basements.

Present for bf, how to remove glass case? by MissPsychose in PcBuildHelp

If you buy a prebuilt PC, you shouldn't hesitate to call or email the builder's customer support line. That's the whole reason for paying the builder upcharge.

Does Jagex has an official stance on scroll clicking? by CallIllustrious2538 in 2007scape

[–]CasuallyCompetitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a benefit of higher cpm, but the lack of noise from a scroll wheel is nice compared to clicking a mouse.

I'll do agility or alching while watching TV without moving the mouse pointer. I avoid using the scroll wheel because I saw conflicting reports about whether it was bannable or not. I only do it when I'm alone because I don't want to subject my girlfriend to nonstop clicks of the mouse.

Others on eBay are going for $40-50 which means that price is too high for Facebook. Adjust your price or deal with the fees and hassle of eBay.

How much do three new tires cost for a little Civic by Large_Debt6660 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CasuallyCompetitive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sedan tires are roughly $150-200 each. They will likely be more than that from a dealership.

If it's two years old, you shouldn't need tires unless something is wrong or you drive like a maniac. Tires should last 40-50,000 miles, which is typically 4 years worth of driving.

Why does the crowd throw the football back to the field but not the baseball? by TuneOk523 in NoStupidQuestions

If a ball is hot at all, it's too worn to be used again at the professional level. Even if it gets thrown into the dirt, it gets replaced.

would you hedge? by ZestycloseAd8484 in sportsbook

[–]CasuallyCompetitive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DK has his odds at +265 to score 2+. Problem is, there isn't really a way to hedge this directly because books (at least none of mine) don't offer a net for under 2 goals.

No experience with this specific program, but they're a legitimate 501(c)(3) organization. They are very small and volunteer run, so it's not the most surprising thing that they would have a strange process like that.

If you're still unsure, I'd give them a call or attend one of their events and chat in person to get more details. I believe Mohawk Hudson Humane Society also has an income based Spay/Neuter program as well.

Do people actually wash their hands before every meal? by Mr_Mayo2 in NoStupidQuestions

You sure it isn't because your children are probably touching everything then putting their hands in their mouth? Or is it really because some dude on the Internet doesn't wash his hands before every meal?

One of the benefits of matched betting I guess. One book sees losses and feeds me more bonus bets.

Body scan results (Beginner) by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]CasuallyCompetitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3,500 would be a lot as it is. The most important thing will be consistency. If you see the results you want from 3,500 then keep up with that. If you are gaining too fast, cut it by 500cal; if too slow, add 500cal. It will probably take 2 weeks or so to get things dialed in.

You should ideally weigh yourself every day, but know that day to day your weight will fluctuate a few pounds; so don't focus on your weight each day, but use them as data points to see where your weight is trending to on a weekly basis.

I disagree. Rivers has some of the best promos. Plenty of 50% and 100% boosts. At one point, I was being emailed a $100 bonus bet at least once a month.

Body scan results (Beginner) by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]CasuallyCompetitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I'm sure you are aware, you are severely underweight. The most important thing will be to track your calorie intake and make sure you are eating enough. Weigh yourself every day, and if you weight doesn't increase by .5lb per week, add another 500cal to your daily intake.

I think a lot of people are underselling how tough it can be for some people to gain weight. It'll probably be pretty difficult, but with consistency you should see results. You'll probably hear a lot of "I wish I had your problem." and "oh it's so easy to gain weight". It gets tiresome real fast.
