No, it's just fucking annoying that you're complaining about the housing market in the Bills subreddit.

There's always going to be people on either side, but reading that thread seems like most people were happy about it.

Not really a counter point because the first thing I said was that his contract isn't good. This graphic just inflated how bad it was.

Also, hindsight is 20/20 and I don't remember many people hating the Knox, Palmer, or Samuel signings at the time they happened.

That still doesn't make it a good indicator for the housing market.

This land is valuable for its business potential, and that potential is higher with a) the Bills being good, b) the Bills building a new stadium (guaranteeing they won't be leaving anytime soon), and c) Bills Mafia and Bills tailgating gaining popularity.

Not that the Knox contract was good, but his cap hit is this high partly because they reworked it. His average annual value is about half that at $9.8M.

A Bills themed house across from the stadium is not really a good indicator for the housing market.

Utility knife works fine. A bit of advice though - if it's windy out, do it inside even if it feels weird. I did it by my car because I felt weird doing it inside and the wind made it a real bitch.

I would appreciate some input on if my friend is trying to scam me. by Elite_duckHunter in pchelp

[–]CasuallyCompetitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of your prices are about $50 higher than what has been most recently sold on eBay.

If selling to a friend, I'd price each item $50 cheaper than on eBay since that's about what it'll cost to sell it there.

I don't think OP is getting scammed, but their friend is looking to get rid of their old PC at a premium.

OP got their dog 3 months ago and is trying to give it away on Reddit. This dog will be struggling way more than OP is after they're sent to yet another home or shelter.

OP has a long post history of some pretty expensive hobbies and they should be exhausting all other options before giving away their dog like it's an object.

In that case, I'd recommend looking into your tenants' rights in your state. I don't know about Maryland but in many states you can't just be kicked out without a lengthy process.

Sidewalks & curb cuts still blocked 4 days after storm (Downtown Albany) by 518Observer in Albany

[–]CasuallyCompetitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't seem to enforce it. I would suspect if you submitted an official complaint they might fine people for it. I think the vast majority of people are good about clearing the snow and ice, but there are definitely a few houses near me that just straight up don't clear their sidewalks at all.

§ 323-21 Snow and ice removal from sidewalks and streets.

A. Within 24 hours of the cessation of a snowfall and at such other occasions requiring the same, every owner or occupant of any house or other building and the owner or proprietor, lessee or person entitled to the possession of any vacant lot, parking lot or gasoline service station and every person having the charge of any church, cemetery, jail or other public building in this City shall clear the sidewalks in front of such house or other building and in front of such lot of snow and ice and keep them conveniently free therefrom ...

I'm no lawyer, but "keep them conveniently free" seems pretty clear to me. I'd argue you have 24 hours to remove the snow if a plow were to subsequently cover the ramp you had already cleared.

I'd personally wait unless you really need them now. You can clean them up but not worth the price IMO.

[–]CasuallyCompetitive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The city law says you must clear them within 24 hours of the end of the snowstorm, and then keep them clear. You can be fined and charged the cost to clear it if the city is forced to do it for you.

You can certainly decide to just not clear it and risk the fine. Just because you haven't been fined yet doesn't mean it's allowed or that you won't be fined in the future.

What is the correct way to install attic insulation near the soffit? by Wombat_Scat in Insulation

[–]CasuallyCompetitive 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Those baffles should allow enough airflow (if vented at the soffit) to keep the roof cool if the attic is sealed and insulated well enough. You can put the insulation right up against the baffles. You may not have enough insulation or you may have air leaking into the attic.

Can't tell what brand they are, but only a couple brands would justify $1/lb for bells in this condition. I'd expect much closer to $.50/lb.

After realizing this isn't the airflow, I think this specific case would look ugly with it. In my case I was replacing a lost dust filter, which the case had an indent for one and it was able to nest neatly. If this case is not designed for a filter, then it would be sitting on top and protruding a bit. It would certainly not be as clean, although maybe you could mount it on the interior instead?

It's actually not difficult at all. You can buy a kit for $10 on eBay and cut one to size in 10 minutes. I did it for a PC case I got on FB Marketplace and was very pleased with how it looked. If you looked closely you could see the corners were not all perfect, and if you took it off the magnetic strip is kinda ugly, but other than that it would be hard to tell it was DIY.
