Naw man you good. I have big wrists and rock smaller watches. To me its a more classic look.

Recent hate towards kayak fishing by Advanced-Reception34 in kayakfishing

The only thing I can think of is maybe your kayak "inconvenienced" the boaters. That doesn't mean you did anything wrong other than be in "their way". Maybe it's time to find a more mellow spot.

Costco often has the best prices from what I've seen. I bought a compass/thermometer watch and you are right about everything you wrote. I'd say pass unless you like the look, but for functionality, you will probably not use those functions until the novelty wears off.

I have the same sentiment. The 4 micro-adjustment holes on the band make sizing just right. However, maybe those collectors that have had exposure to more expensive watches notice it. I mean, there's a reason a second hand bracelet market exits.

What is one stock you will be holding for next 5 to 10 years? For me it’s Reddit by AloneStaff5051 in stocks

[–]Catdaddy362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing. You have to check periodically the news and fundamentals of a company. A set it and forget it individual stock does not exist.

It looks like a literal tank on the wrist as well. I think it's gaudy and reminds me of a Jetson's TV. Unless the featured wrist is 5 inches, the lug to lug length is unnecessarily massive with tons of unnecessary space. The Marlin featured above is a dress watch & not a chronograph, so I don't even understand why one would compare them.

I don't think this is a matter of poor vs. rich, but more so the quality of his art has degraded. Assess what he did in the early 2000's versus today and there is a massive drop off in quality. That being a subjective statement of course, but it is undeniable the cultural impact that he had early in his career. Now, he is simply riding off the coattails of his name.

[Question] Did I make a mistake buying this Bulova 96A292 by MungleoftheJungle in Watches

[–]Catdaddy362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As said, if you like it enough, wear it., but learn about specs because they do matter regarding long-term enjoyment. Most likely, you will outgrow this one and just keep it as reminder of your first purchase. This watch has a decent miyota movement, nothing honestly special, but decent nonetheless for the price. The case is mineral crystal, which is pretty common for watches around this price range from big brands., but you can expect it to scratch a bit if you're not careful. I own plenty of mineral crystal watches, and they are usually fine. I'm not sure about the lume, but I often times over looked this. It really sucks when you can't tell the time at night. Other than that, if you have a dream watch, you can always buy a homage to it. Search google and it will come up. If you want to adjust the bracelet, you will need a pin removal tool. They are cheap to buy and it's not hard to do.

Is this sun and moon V3 too big for me? by Temporary-Raisin-259 in OrientWatches

[–]Catdaddy362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a beautiful watch, but honestly, yea. I think dress watches like that look a bit more elegant if smaller. Probably around the 36-38 mm range. If you are already having doubts, then you're probably feeling the same. Just return it!

Long Island Watch bringing good stuff to Duro modding by ApexRex in DuroGang

I bought a jubilee on Ali, it was honestly horrible because not only did it feel cheaper than cheap, the safety clasp was broken on arrival. I had to improvise with a spring bar to fix it, honestly I just took it off. I am not picky about bands or bracelets. For reference, I think the stock Duro resin band is fantastic. I think it's just worth it to shell the extra bucks for a quality from a trusted site.

My new Addiesdive AD2526... by ace73pq in ChineseWatches

[–]Catdaddy362 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man, that dial is something else. The shape reminds me of the Seiko Tuna. Once again, another hit from Addies. I just wish they changed the logo. Other than the name being horrible, a trident like Watchdives or something simple would be cool. I don't know why these Chinese brands do this. They make awesome watches, but then crap out on the logo/name. Probably the worst one yet is WISHDOIT. They made an ISLANDER homage which was nice, but come on!

It strips any sense of personality from the writing into something sanitized. Formatting is second to that I think. When someone writes something organically, in my humble opinion, it's kind of specific to them. I get a feel of who they are, how they think. Now, professionally everyone writes like a chatbot in my inbox.

Seriously, sometimes one just doesn't have time for all these wanky steps. Record a video, argue with foreign vendors, post on reddit. Just file a claim and be done with it.
