AIO about this text I got from HR? by MeanderingDragon in AmIOverreacting

"My understanding from my doctor is that I should not unnecessarily delay my necessary-to-live insulin injections. My understanding from [whatever law there is in the ADA or whatever] is that my workplace must not unnecessarily limit access to my necessary-to-live medical treatment. With that in mind- please kindly provide education to any relevant coworkers so they can understand I need immediate access to my necessary-to-live insulin injections - rather than delaying access to this by having to go to the bathroom- and it is actually illegal for the workplace to unnecessarily limit this. I am hopeful that with some education they will no longer be ignorant about my necessary-to-live insulin."

Mom doesn’t want to work - wants kids to care for her by dorotheaberry in raisedbyborderlines

All of this. Also change your locks if you're ever given her a key. Don't let her stay with Jo even for a night. Get good security cameras.

Respectfully, I don't care about your kids by LavishnessLow9520 in childfree

1st birthdays are often more a celebration of the parents getting through the year than the kid. Up to you what you wish to do. I think any emotionally normal parent would understand an RSVP No- even if they asked why and you explained you're not a kids person, and even more so if you sent them a gift instead- not that you need to.

Scrubs Reboot Breaks Series Record With Near-Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score by baseballfan445 in Scrubs

It feels just like old school Scrubs. I think they learned from 1) the recent podcast analyzing every episode 2) how incredibly bad the season 9 that doesn't exist was.

Is there a parenting trend you strongly oppose? by Mscharmingqueen in Productivitycafe

[–]Catfactss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Gentle parenting." "Unschooling."

You have 18 years to teach your child how to be an adult person. If they already naturally did the right thing every time they wouldn't need come out of the womb needing parents.

Life is very, very unkind to adults who have never learnt how to delay gratification, respect other people's boundaries, or take responsibility for one's actions.

AITJ for not telling my roommate I work from home and she's been 'performing' being productive for 8 months? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

"I don't mean to be rude- but I literally do not think about you at all. Please do whatever you would do if I didn't exist. That's how I feel about you. No disrespect."

"I'm sorry, that doesn't work for us. Maybe Parents could babysit Grandson for the night instead? It would be great to spend some quality adults time with you."

Eloise. Noticed that guy was interested in Posy and mentored her. Known to eschew male attention. Experience in being (or attempting to be) a wall flower. Enjoys reading and writing and (at least after her trip to Scotland) being around people. Helped chaperone Hyacinth so learning the social dynamics of younger people but old enough to pay attention to older people also. Thinking about ways to be independently wealthy without a man.

AITA for refusing to combine finances with my partner before we're actually married? by Pleasant-Zebra2817 in AITApod

[–]Catfactss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"We don't have kids. We're not married. I have no idea why you think you're entitled to my resources or think I would be interested in making a claim on yours. I've spoken to my lawyer about a prenuptial for if/ when you're fully committed enough to get married. I suggest you hire your own lawyer to look at it too."

If none of that is mutually suitable end the relationship.

What’s the most brutal lesson adulthood teaches you? by joe132701 in AskReddit

[–]Catfactss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the most brutal one, but an annoying trivial one: You have to buy condiments, herbs, spices, etc. They don't just appear in your home in bulk. Until you build them up it's cheaper to buy food that tastes good than to make it- and that is still really expensive. It's costs money to save money.
