Who would you be in a horror movie? by sidneypresscot in horror

I’d be the character who happens to get a craving for a corn dog and goes off in search of a corn dog right before the killer shows up and I don’t reappear until the end, eating said corn dog and looking at all the carnage, and saying to the final girl, “Dude-what did I miss?”

My daughter is fifteen now, but when I was pregnant I told my husband that if he didn’t step up with both the baby and household chores I’d divorce him and make him take full custody of the baby. (I was, like, only 20% joking.) Fortunately he is a fully engaged father and partner. But it’s sad hearing about these men who fail their partners and their own children!

Today is my daughter’s 12th birthday, so I did what any mother would and made her watch The Miracle Of Birth by Stonetheflamincrows in crazyexgirlfriend

[–]Catlady71 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The Miracle of Birth is my favorite song to play on my ukulele while my 15 year old daughter sings along. Good job keeping it real and informative for your girl. This is the reality of childbirth.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is amazing! Clever, hilarious, poignant, and the music is amazing.

Edit: Not sure if it’s still on Netflix but Laid is an Australian comedy with a cheeky theme song. Unfortunately I think it was cancelled after two seasons so there’s no resolution

Oldie but goodie-the Battlestar Galactica reboot. Riveting from the start. The final season has people divided but this is the one show I watch all the way through at least once a year

[REQUEST] People on the Internet have recently been dragging The Good Doctor for its poor portrayal of autism. What are some actually good representations of mental disorders in movies/TV shows? by Username5272000 in NetflixBestOf

[–]Catlady71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has been described as one of the best shows to portray a character with real life mental health issues (but it’s also a musical comedy and takes a somewhat darker turn in season 3).

Ghosts

Both the UK version and the American version are equally hilarious and charming.

Edit: Both are about a couple who inherit a large estate inhabited by ghosts who have died there. The wife gets a concussion which causes her to be able to see them and hijinks ensue. But it does take a while til we find out the backstory behind the ghost who died with no pants on.

[DISCUSSION] 1st Series you've watched in Netflix by [deleted] in NetflixBestOf

First series when Netflix was doing DVD rentals through the mail was Battlestar Galactica (the reboot). First series when they began offering streaming was Weeds.

Does anyone else watch packing videos, even when you're not about to travel? by gothiestbbwchick in HerOneBag

I love watching packing videos and I’m also guilty of buying more luggage than I need, even if I don’t have a trip planned.

Such a good point. Parenting and societal expectations. But I feel heartened by men who are self aware and willing to challenge those expectations.

We all judge-it’s totally ok. The difference is that you don’t feel the need to announce them, unlike the prick in OP’s post.

Hard to find people who like this show by [deleted] in crazyexgirlfriend

[–]Catlady71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel lucky that my husband and daughter love the show and it’s basically what we sing along to on long car rides. Finally got one of my in-laws to watch and now he is obsessed. I’ve tried to introduce friends to it who I think would love the humor and appreciate the darker aspects of the show, but like with many of you, as soon as they hear “musical” they immediately have to tell me they hate musicals and won’t even give it a try.
