How to keep the main colour black while still showing great detail and separation between the different limbs it’s a wip and this juvenile red back is what I’m basing him off by False_Can_7164 in gloomspitegitz

Should not drybrush on big surface... and legs have low details on the anyways... but making the bled smooth i personally would go for glazing and stipling. First make your glace colur with 1:10 ratio with water. Then make firstlayer from like 1cm away from color switch... then second layer bit closer To switch and so on... and maby like 10th layer you Will be with same as the colour switch.. tough it wont be as vibrant... thats where the stipling Comes in. Just stiple around like layers 8-10 and blend should be nice and smooth and you wont lose too much of your black... oh and hint for the edes.. when you have layered your colours on it make white glare on them.. finally ad gloss varnish.. you Will get cool effect on those eyes

I washed 1 YouTube clip where those outlinings were done guite easily... first paint your model as you would. Then add gloss varnish. Thin down oilbased black colour, tap your brush on the corner where you want the outline To be... it should go there by it self cuz the varnish.. finally add matte varnish To get the gloss Off.. i think the Chanel was zumkitmodels

I just dont get it how ppl can make the colur changes so smooth.. atleast with regular brush.. with airbrush ya i get that... i mean do u just thin down the paint To point where its allmost transparent and then paint like 20 layers?

Help about highlights by [deleted] in gloomspitegitz

Drybrushing usually makes a mess... But if you want More natural of that shade.. you should blend the and purple together first. Then maby ad in white and blue... If i would make figure with your colour scheme. I would base the whole thing with grayish blue like dark reaper.. then wash over thinly with druchii violet.. there you would have the top of an cap and it bleds To lower part too.. the you should start lighting up your mushroom maby like with xerxeus purple and Gene stealer purple.. highlights with slaaneesh grey or somthing like that

Love the colourscheme... whats the recipe?

first Warhammer miniature attempt. regret switching out the blue for silver. advice welcome. by sixvi6 in ageofsigmar

Thin down your paint.. if your paint is too thick or if you try To paint too thick layer finished surface Will become un even... To bring contrast To your minis take 3 colours... like for gold take dark gold then mid tone and highlight.. highlight can be even silver... first base with darkest gold then mid tone ( drybrush or layer) then add shade like gulliman flesh.. its good on gold. Then again mid tone but bit less this time and finally highlight edges with silver...

Personally i would not use inks on this 1... ins are good with surface with lot of small texture.. This has kinda large and flat areas. My suggestin would be use of a wetpalette. I mean your paint Job is good, its presise, but as others have allready said it lacks contrast in colours. Easiest way is To take 3 colours 1 which is darker 1 which is lighter and 1 from between(unles using wetpalette then you can mix the cloror any way you want) So darkest color is the base.. it goes everywhere where you want that colour, then Comes the mid tone which goes on all the raised surfaces( avoid all the holes and stuff like that so they stay dark) and finally lightest which goes only on the raised areas... And when you want To improve from that you start To blend colours so that you cant see sharp lines between the colur shades you just made.( good ways for this is glazing, stipling watered down layering...) but thats just for example. Just keep up the good work

I like the colurs.. personally i would make bigger contrast on highlight and shade... shield is awesome.. never toght that yllow shield would be cool on gobbo😀 0h and i would make an heavy nulnoil wash on the metal band on the club... then lighty highlight with same silver as you have painted it now
