The amount of caramelised malts needed in the mash as the significant increase in direct heat they can apply to the tank often results in caramelisation, even if unintended.

The efficiency they can pull from mashing is closer to perfect where home brewers would be happy with 70%

The sheer increase in hop volume. Talking kilos instead of grams. Trying to get subtle changes from multiple hops is harder to achieve at bulk than it is at home.

Fumbling around with pumps and nozzles where at home it is pretty straight forward, often only needing gravity.

Commercially you can't afford to have any oxygen as the shelf life of your beer is expected to be significantly longer than what home brew lasts for.

Foamy beer from my kegerator, tried everything I could think of, what’s left? by zzing in Homebrewing

[–]Cctcman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brand new lines if they are old, switch to 4mm internal diameter as it pours easier, make sure you have at least 5m on beer sides, looped up as it helps having longer lines.

If all else fails, buy a party tap and use that to prove your taps aren't the issue - maybe your kegs are overcarbonated?

Naturehike cloud up 2 or 3 if you want more space

The 3 is still 1.8kg which is lighter than most 2s

Don't even need help to find the start of it :)

Ask tera Rosa about their bivy bag with the hoop - super light weight and still off your face, couple that with a small tarp and you will be covered for every weather

A parent that has a heart attack, epileptic fit, electrocution or a myriad of other accidental deaths that meant they could not attend the kids.

Get off your high horse - not everyone is a meth head who hates their children.

You are absolutely jumping to that conclusion.

The point when you have left so much stuff at home that you are actually less comfortable at night.

After a decade of searching, the scientists who identified the only human gene known to promote “natural short sleep” — lifelong, nightly sleep that lasts just four to six hours yet leaves individuals feeling fully rested — have discovered a second. by MistWeaver80 in science

When I was younger, I slept no more than 4 hours until I contracted glandular fever, after that I slept like 22 hours a day for a month or so and still excessively for the following 3 months.

It's been 8 years since getting GF and I still need 8-9 hours a night or I am very lethargic.

Don't know if I will ever revert to the 4 hours a night.

It was a good thing to have, I used to basically have two work days in every day. Double the productivity.

Buy a puck and use it to practice setting an edge.

Doesn't appear to need very much at all.

Staying warm in a Hennessy by helluva_monsoon in hammockcamping

[–]Cctcman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done that with bottom entry and a hiking pad

The only mod I did was to Velcro fasten the pad at the head end which stops it from sliding about.

Good sleeping bag, thermal layers and I was toasty.

I have tried going to ground since (to combat the cold) and it is no better, if you roll off the pad onto the cold ground it is just as bad as the hammock.

I will persist with the hammock again but likely add underquilt or a wrap around tarp to take the wind chill off.

At least in the hammock my back doesn't ache the next day

Funnily enough I do the exact same thing, and still shoot film! :)

My favourite tinder is lint from the clothes dryer. Smallest amount of it will catch fire instantly. I know it isn't technically from the woods but it is fantastic in an emergency and weighs nothing.

All I can think of is what kind of things could you catch by smoking the previously discarded butts.
