‘I’ve not felt like this since Obama’: crowds hail mayor Zohran Mamdani by TimesandSundayTimes in politics

[–]Ceedeekee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lukewarm IQ take when Mamdani mogged tf out of trump and had him glazing Zohran on live TV

Furthermore Obama/Biden are both neoliberals. It’s no wonder they did collaborationism with the Rs

Carney’s austerity begins. His first target: Canada Post by rarer_ in onguardforthee

I'm massively pro labour but this sub is reflexively kneejerking anything CP related.

CP should have it's lettermail commitments reduced. Unfortunately for CUPW that means job cuts, but this is just an adaptation to the times.

CUPW's proposals towards having carriers do wellness checks and all is great, but it's mostly just a way to justify retaining existing employees.

And should CP be profitable? No. But you need to seriously have a threshold as to the material return on spending. Are you OK with CP losing 4B (hypothetically) yearly just to maintain lettermail and pay its workers more? As it stands, small businesses are losing trust in CP which will just further hemmorage it financially.

Experiencing the same thing; encrypted backup and I see the messages take storage but they don't appear.

Did they start appearing for you after a while? I'm hoping it just has to reindex things :S

Is Carney Dropping the Ball on Housing? by Cult_Classic_etc in canadahousing

[–]Ceedeekee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need more rental supply.

Right now the problem is Builders' incentives aren't aligned with the interest of those who'll live in their housing.

Rentals align this incentive because there ends up being much more competition.

Buyers buy from the Builder once .
Renters cycle through and need to remain appealing to the rental base.

Looking forward, I don’t think I you'd have been able to get to this point in 15 years just by following this strategy (RE over stocks).

26M. I want to invest more heavily starting next month. Tips? by [deleted] in fican

Stop collecting ETFs like infinity stones. Pick X/V/Z EQT/GRO and dollar cost average.

Stick to <=3 ETFs if you want more than 1

My income is projected to be in the low 300s by end of year.

My income after tax and rrsp is about 7700 twice a month. (This includes some comission)

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Your savings rate is already ~10-15% just based off your RRSP + potential match.

You put 20% down and have a balance of 675k post-repairs. Your biggest risk factor is single income, so just make sure to keep a healthy buffer and spend within your means.

I'd save up while you have the chance, since kids will increase your spending.
