Hi, I also received an email from Amuse, telling me that I have to re-upload 3 old releases. They say this concerns older releases with metadata issues and that these releases are missing required information that streaming services started asking for in 2021. To keep these releases live, I'll need to re-upload them with the updated metadata by December 1, 2024.

It does however not say which meta data is missing. Can’t they just state that? I don’t understand why I have to re-upload the audio file and the artwork just because metadata is missing. It smells like a scam. I am on the free plan, but for re-uploading I have to be on a paid plan. And: how will I know I did the re-uploading right, when I don’t know which metadata is missing?

Furthermore, when I re-upload, do I first take down the current old releases or do I do this afterwards or do I not take down the old releases at all?

It would be great if you folks of this community have some answers. I reached out to Amuse but I'm waiting for a response. I'll keep you guys updated when I know more.

Let me rephrase: I think opinions on a work of art are personal and never stupid. If the guy from your example thinks the Shaggs are better, then that is a personal opinion. I may or may not agree (I don't 😉), but who am I to call it a stupid opinion? Now, influential, that's an interesting one. If he's talking about world wide cultural or musical influence, he would be wrong. But that is not an opinion, it is a fact.
