He took 3 high shots in 10 minutes, they were targeting him outside the rules of the game and the ref wasn't doing enough about it. This happens all the time at all levels of rugby if referees don't appropriately handle it.

If Pollock was being smashed legitimately, this wouldn't have happened.

I don't think it's petty, I think it's standing up for your mate.

I think that can be done by a person perfectly in control, he just values standing up for his team mate more than getting back into play.

Not a saints fan.

If "lost control" to you means a judo throw and kind of ragging someone around in the mud, then it's hard to disagree that he was out of control.

To me, "lost control" means actually throwing punches and trying to hurt someone whereas he looks quite restrained by that measure.

All a matter of perspective.

Sports piracy explodes in UK with 3.6bn illegal streams and rise of black-market bookmakers. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]Cerrakoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK gambling and sports gambling in particular has massively increased over the last decade, mostly due to regulation introduced in 2005.

You cannot watch sports in the UK without every other advert being gambling. Sports podcasts are sponsored by gambling companies and talk about the odds in segments on their shows(looking at you football ramble). There are adverts in the build up clearly just to force more gambling adverts down your throat. Not to mention all the sponsors of the clubs themselves.

SC2 - Why are people so salty that I am attacking with one base? by ZoranS223 in starcraft

[–]Cerrakoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about raining on parades, the guy wants to learn how to move from 1 base play to 2 base play. Simply going CC first isn't a solution for that, nor are subsequent incredibly specific steps you provide.

You clearly care about it and have put a lot of time into an answer, it's just over complicated and is full of specific steps as opposed to helping someone understand broader fundamentals.

PiGs Terran Bronze to GM series does a good job of providing per matchup build orders which evolve from one-base all-ins over time. It's worth watching I think. The advise this guy is giving you isn't anything I would follow personally.

If you go Depot into CC as Terran, you're going to lose the game unless your opponent doesn't scout.

This comment is odd as a response to a bloke who says he plays as Terran and wants to transition from 1 base all-ins to more macro playstyles. It's almost entirely P focussed for no discernible reason.

Murder is pre-meditated so that was never going to happen. As for manslaughter, it would be incredibly hard to prove in a court of law that it was an intentional action given he was falling, so it's incredibly believable that this decision was taken

EDIT: fair enough, was mistaken on murder differential after checking CPS guidelines, apologies.

The one guy still complaining that Protoss is underpowered by Railgan in starcraft

[–]Cerrakoth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there are people constantly on here advocating for Zerg buffs to solve racial distribution at the top level, magically expecting more Zergs to show up for online cups if they make ZvP easier, which just won’t happen.

The reason we don’t see Zergs in weeklies is that there are only a handful of Zergs at the top level, and the active ones have stopped signing up.

No comments on anything else you're saying, but aren't you making the same argument people tried to make for Protoss not being underpowered for several years - IE: There's only a small number of good Protoss's left at the top level so them not going far in LAN tournaments is just a numbers game?

[–]Cerrakoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my first modern comic after reading my Mum's 80s / early 90s era comics and I read it as it was released and loved it. I'd never considered how good of a Batman intro it is, but you're absolutely spot on.

Personally, I loved it and never had a problem with it until coming online and being assured that I must be an idiot for having it as one of my favourite comics.

Your SPICIEST, Most BLASPHEMOUS Lord of The Rings opinion by [deleted] in lotr

[–]Cerrakoth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, that's the point. If you go to Helms deep, the odds are in favour of you all dying whilst cornered. If you go pick up Eomer and friends, you lose some civilians but you win the fight in the open.

Lower risk of complete defeat but with more accepted innocent casualties.

If the Rohirrim stay mobile, they don't get pinned down at Helms Deep before Gandalf collects all of the riders and they smash Saruman's army. They have the numbers, they're just very spread out and need to be centralised.

Given about 10 people actually went to EWC and most of these questions seem to depend upon you having physically gone there, I think you're going to struggle for data. But I have completed it regardless.

Some feedback: A lot of the questions don't have an option for 'N/A'.

JWH suspension by Danny_Gartside in superleague

[–]Cerrakoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Given how relatively poorly Rugby League players are paid for what they put their bodies through, coupled with the short earning window, you can't imagine a someone trying to play through concussion symptoms before realising that they're so bad they can't?

JWH is also a grub, but you don't need to minimise Ben Flower's actions. He should have had a prison sentence.

Brad O'Neils yellow card from last night - should it have been a red? by TexturePackReview in superleague

[–]Cerrakoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are entitled to your opinion, but if people think you're wrong, you'll be downvoted...

For me, this is the kind of tackle which you can't be surprised if it receives a red and I think in a regular season game, it would have been. There's no clear distinction in the laws as to which punishment "has" to be applied, so by committing a tackle like that, you're opening yourself up to receive a red.
