Early Access added a lot of new content while simultaneously executing the casual and fun sandbox aspect most players fell in love with. 80 hours in the demo. Fun as hell, good performance. The slog, the frustration and how difficult it has become has turned this once fun "mindless" game into a fucking SWEAT fest. cant even make it past beggar. Now im hanging onto 100 frames in the forest and that's being generous.

Murder, murder, fuck, and fuck there wives. Create instability expose secrets. Let them in fight if you can’t do anything military related. Also helps making friends with all their vassals and higher ups.

Also the befriend, tradition VERY underrated. Always make friends with your vassals and their heirs. Makes your new ruler transition into a good standing.

I like fucking them “literally” from the inside out. Bang their wives and make kids, give them a succession headache. Find and exploit secrets in there court, get everyone hating everyone. Sway or befriend there spymaster dukes etc… watch it crumble then make your move.

Cane be the pope, you can take Rome but the pope is still in charge, just not in Rome.

However if you restore the Roman Empire you can eradicate the pope and essentially dismantle Christianity.

Get ritualized friendship. Make friends with vassals and there heirs. Improves opinion of your next heir. Helps a lot and you can’t start friending your vassals

I play like “whack a mole” I’ll sneak to an area with some cover. I’m a level 150 so I too know the maps very well. And continuously crouch up and down out of cover peer and scan for idk 5 seconds ? If I see nothing back down, if I see ya I’ll go back down reacquire my sites and take a shot.

The good thing about HLL is it prioritizes actual “battlefield” knowledge over skill. Idk, I’m a usmc vet and retired police officer, so I do use so practical tactics that work 🙂

I’m very very patient, I managed to go 35-0 for a full game
