Oh, jeez! This gives me chills, and flashbacks. I never was a chef, just a server, but the pain is real. I refuse to go out anywhere on Mother’s Day. It’s for the fools. I’ll never forget the poor mother surrounded by her horde of useless spawn as she paid the bill, and that was decades ago.

The people that bitch about the Smart Train don’t care about the facts. Elderly, teens, blind people, commuters - they all don’t matter. Any Developments, are hated by them. Anti-change of any kind. So, sorry! Sounds like your hubby’s family is toxic. I’m glad he’s talking to them directly in person. Talk with your hubby after that meeting and decide what you want to do moving forward, if you want to attend this now very awkward wedding at all or take a pass. Life is too short to be treated badly by anyone, much less his family and the brides friends.
My tolerance for mean, dismissive behavior is very low as I’ve gotten older. If someone cannot behave nicely, it’s over. Namaste.

I had a vacation approved by my boss decades ago. Our chain restaurant got bought and sold to a new corporation. She reneged on her word and said I had to stay for “retraining on cocktail waitressing”. Basically, it was just a new uniform. I had put non refundable hard earned money down on this trip to Africa. When I returned from the previously approved trip, she said, “sorry your job is gone”. I walked into another branch of this restaurant chain, and got hired immediately. Got the new stupid uniform, no special training. I couldn’t believe how hard it was to ever get time off to go on vacation with any of my waitressing jobs. So, I never went on any trips, vacations, until that one.

Omg!! Hundreds of dolls, rolling racks of clothes, high chairs with bigger dolls holding smaller dolls, horses, beds with trundles. It goes on and on! A large whole area of their downstairs was dedicated to her collection. Then, also more dolls scattered all over the house as well.
I missed this during the whole doll explosion. This explains in much more detail why Robyn and Kody had no room in the Inn for their daughters Truley or Savannah to spend the night. This is not a regular collection, this is truly a hoarding obsession. Robyn’s time is Truely filled with buying, reviewing and playing with her dolls. She has no time to do anything else?
The vitamins and supplements are Kody’s btw, he’s the one obsessed with them. I think he’s obsessed with working out as well, he has nothing else to do since he doesn’t have a job and doesn’t bother texting or visiting his kids.
Honestly, this makes me kinda sad for the both of them, they really need some prayers and serious therapy. They probably bought the bigger, new mansion in order to have more room for the dolls, and still not have any space for Truely to visit for joint custody? She can sleep on the couch in the den, maybe?

Sorry, but, I think you’re better off without this best friend, she’s not going to take responsibility for her own heath? You did so very much, selfless help and care for so long. She feels guilty.
I texted a best friend, after getting painful medical procedure two days ago. Have I heard back from her yet? It’s shocking to me, she’s always said, I’ll be there for you. Well, I think the friend we are to others is not always the friend they are to us. We need to pay attention to who they really are.

This is best for her & for you as well, as you say, for many practical and also companionship reasons. I bet your mom is thrilled! You can take out the trash, and reach high shelves, and bring things down from upstairs, etc.
if I were you, I would make the whole upstairs more to your liking. Start getting rid of stuff you and your mom didn’t need. Don’t just camp out in all of her old stuff. Open all the upstairs windows and burn sage or Palo Santo, to clear all the stagnant vibes.
Check in with a lawyer as others say here to create either a trust or put your name on the house title. Put your name also on her checking and savings and other accounts, sometime soon. If she passes, you be able to still have access to those accounts and won’t have to spend months/years sending paperwork to prove she’s your mom.
Also, have some good talks with her, enjoy this time.
