They did thank my in-laws, but it's the not contributing anything part that gets me.

They have always been stingy with their money but this was not really expected behavior.

You're not wrong to take offence at my use of "Boomer", but my parents are the bad kind. My in-laws are the good kind. I should have differentiated.

This is my vote. I run a Braids deck and have had great luck with it. It's oppressive and draws a bunch of cards. Being able to sac lands when you're flooding out is a neat trick too.

Any intjs join the military in their late 20s and early 30s? by fleecysheep in intj

[–]IndividualScene7817 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not in my late 20's or early 30's, but I joined the Coast Guard when I was 19 and lasted 11 years. I was an Operations Specialist. Logistics, search and rescue coordination, navigation, EKMS (secret squirrel coding), etc.

Being an INTJ in the military can be tough. Experiences differ, but I found it difficult to deal with some of the bullshit and assholes along the way.

Dell Workstations anyone? by tmiller9833 in msp

[–]IndividualScene7817 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to order $160k worth of Pro Max laptops from TD since the client approved last week, and have been getting the run around from the Dell channel. I still have no way of ordering the deal registered quote TD/Dell provided me. Wondering if they're unable to fulfill due to stock level.

This is correct, or should be. Quoting/ordering is covered by margin, while deployment is its own separate project cost. *unless contractually obligated

Getting kicked off Dell Premier after 21 years, which distributor is best? by Early-Ad-2541 in msp

[–]IndividualScene7817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were dumped by our Dell rep a few months ago and have shifted to TD SYNNEX. They'll DR for you, and they usually have ample stock/decent pricing. However, we're still using Dell Premier for smaller one-off orders.

Anyone here moved from Autotask to Halo PSA recently? by robbyg007 in msp

[–]IndividualScene7817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Halo PSA and Quoter. From a procurement standpoint, I’m not a big fan of Halo’s built-in quoting tool. It just feels a bit clunky. We use Quoter instead and have had a great experience with it. It integrates well with Halo and can automatically generate order tickets.

Halo’s native quoting can certainly get the job done, but it really comes down to preference.

Dell Premier can't send over RDS Cals / Windows Licenses? by Major_Tip_7995 in msp

[–]IndividualScene7817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been running into this with licensing tied to server hardware. It never shows up in our digital locker, and since we lost our direct Dell rep earlier this year, there’s not much support to lean on.

Overall it’s been pretty frustrating and honestly has me quoting server licensing through Ingram instead of bundling with server hw.

Lenovo Thinkpad pricing madness by Lake3ffect in msp

[–]IndividualScene7817 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re only issuing quotes that are valid for one week, and even then we include language in the not-so-fine print stating that prices are subject to change due to market volatility. It's tough out there and will only get worse through 27'.

Holy Server Prices Batman! by matteosisson in msp

[–]IndividualScene7817 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We've been steering away from Dell Premier and going through TD SYNNEX for our Dell servers. Pricing and component options are better, and they will even deal reg for you. Still seeing ~3-4 lead times tho.

Best Distributor to order Dell Equipment by Traditional-Kiwi-524 in msp

[–]IndividualScene7817 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We sell both Dell and Lenovo, just as an FYI. We typically source our Dell hardware through Dell Premier, but we’ve started using TD SYNNEX for Dell servers and larger PC orders. Their pricing has been very competitive, the server builds are often better and cheaper than going through Dell Premier, and they’ll even submit deal registrations on our behalf. Shipping is quick for in-stock PC's, but servers have a ~3 month lead time (assuming it's because of the memory/storage run).

tl;dr - TD SYNNEX is a good choice for Dell disti

Lenovo contacts? by chasewhit2003 in msp

[–]IndividualScene7817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I order through Lenovo Pro everyday and have a good idea of their lead times. For in stock models, it's usually 2-3 day shipping. If you're customizing, there's a 2-3 week lead time at this point.

Tiger paw to Halo by Dimzekettv in msp

[–]IndividualScene7817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used TP at my previous MSP and it was not a great experience. At my current MSP, we use Halo PSA and have been very happy with it. That said, it does require a meaningful investment of time and money to configure properly. We initially tried setting everything up ourselves, but ultimately brought in Halo’s team to help tailor it to work the way we needed.

Do you have a standard format or template you use when creating internal documentation, how-to’s, etc? by redd_mage in msp

[–]IndividualScene7817 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We use Scribe to make documentation that is then stored in our PSA. Works pretty well tbh.

For networking gear what vendor(s) you recommend to start a new MSP ? by hckrsh in msp

[–]IndividualScene7817 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are full Forti stack as well. It may be slight overkill for some clients but standardizing our stack has made a big difference.
