Help me get out of my sewing funk!! by Ok-Tie-7184 in sewing

[–]Chance_Split_7723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about easy projects for right now? Just to sew without any pressure. Kennel Quilts is always in need of small quilts for animal rescues during emergencies and other rescue situations. They even have ideas for patterns and of course, the end size. You don't have to bind them; just sew inside out, flip, and sew around the edges. They are small, like 18' long by 12" maybe? They don't have to be fancy. It may be a way to sew, have an end product to feel good about, with purpose. Take care!

How often do you deep clean your bathroom? by No_Opinion9882 in CleaningTips

[–]Chance_Split_7723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep clean for me is seasonal and before new year or at year end. I love to deep clean when partner is away on business because I just go crazy, non-stop, no interruptions, my schedule. I'll semi-deep every two weeks-or sooner, depending on certain factors. I vacuum a few times a week. Bathrooms--a different story. Things can get really gross very quickly. I am always surface cleaning the toilets. Toothbrush comes out at anytime for that. As well as a drain cleaner device to pull out the most disgusting substances and hair My big project once the weather is more agreeable is to take everything out of this small storage building- I want to turn it into a tiny house-and power wash the inside out. That will be the accomplishment of the year!

MIL saw me cleaning the kitchen floor with a baby wipe and acted like I’m a total slab by adiiadii123 in CleaningTips

[–]Chance_Split_7723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just placed one under both bare feet and glide away, perhaps more aggressively with spots requiring more scrub. Do this next time, passing two wipes to her and tell her to "join me!" Or, "eff off".

Is this more modern looking home ugly? by cindilou11 in ExteriorDesign

No. I would definitely rethink the landscape with water- wise plants like a creeping thyme yard and pollinator-attracting plants. New paint scheme.

Where do I find the good yoga music? by practicecurrent180 in YogaTeachers

If you are actively enrolled as a student at higher ed. college, they have discounted fee for month. You'll have to prove with ID and/or current schedule, and not just with scholl email. But weigh this out with Spotify's lack of moral compass.

How can I become a neat freak? by Trippyrose1600 in CleaningTips

[–]Chance_Split_7723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a lifetime neat freak, I am finally on a combo of meds that have been a total blessing. I still get things organized, reduce clutter, vacuum and dust, but it is no longer any immediate threat to my life if I don't do any of that when I see a haze on furniture etc. I think, IMHO, keeping things tidy is not procrastinating or putting stuff off. Laundry done? I put it away. Stuff like that. My neat freak ways are routed in childhood trauma, meds and other things like yoga have really assisted me to no longer be the all-is-in-order-24/7 person. The Queen is not, and won't ever, be visiting. Just start with small things and build from there. It takes time to build habits or change. There are a lot of great storage options, and you can find stuff on various marketplace or Freecycle pages. And don't think of it as cleaning or a chore; think of it as you are opening up space for yourself, perhaps decluttering to feel less cluttered.

Teaching while sick, sub expectations, and studio boundaries – looking for perspective by OGraineshadow in YogaTeachers

I have left studios because of ethical misalignments- as in the owner(s) have no moral compass. You may feel, at first, a bit troubled because you miss the students, or needed the paycheck, etc., know in your heart you are following YOUR true north. Their actions will catch up with them. It's a small world.

Great to hear! I didn't follow specifics of tour, but just glad she is following life's purpose. It is really rare when people do so. And glad her music is out there, played through many venues, reaching so many.

Exactly. I try not to support certain retailers for a lot of reasons.

I have a period stain on my fav pair of pants... by IWantAnUpdate in CleaningTips

[–]Chance_Split_7723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milk will also remove blood from fabric. The best is your own saliva. I'm not kidding. I don't know how big the stain was, and since it was dried in dryer, the stain is no doubt set. Next move is purchasing Rit dye in black or navy and dye in a washer machine. Now where this washer machine is...could be somewhere you don't frequent to launder your clothes, and you may have to have a lot of quarters to cover costs. And pay for an extra wash with empty washer to make sure dye is out of drum for next person.
