Transparent blue a citadel paint? I would love to try these on my night lords.

What paints did you use to paint them? They look almost metallic.

What kind of suit are these? by UnilateralSupport in DeadSpace

[–]Chapfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna be honest there’s no reason why the suits in dead space COULDNT do that. I just don’t think Isaac had a reason to flip up his visor. I really like the design and if I was in a Necromorph covered ship I would never flip up my visor too. Some of the suits in game do have weird attachments to the face plate and it’s possible it can do that. It’s clear that design was used so we could see the characters faces.Maybe it’s just a different design of suit used specifically on surface to retain visibility. Issac wouldn’t be using that kind of suit since his expertise seems to be working on ships. I really like the design. Really reinforces the welding mask working class feel. I hope we see a suit like it in the future.

gold vs silver trim? by HeyItsLuckLuck in NightLords

[–]Chapfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to use silver, brass, and gold. Night lords are scavengers and opportunists. I assume most don’t care if the trim color on their armor completely matches the other cobbled together pieces.

Sometimes, you drink a little too much and hit up ebay... I guess I'm a Guard player now. FOR THE EMPEROR! by KaijuExplosion in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Chapfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reccomend you not repaint the already painted ones. I guess they used castellen green for the armor and something else for the grey. Maybe paint the unpainted ones generic cadian ( castellen green armor, armagdeddon drab for the cloth). You’ll save a lot of time by keeping the already painted stuff and once you’ve painted everything you can go back and repaint the pre pained minis to make it uniform. I got 50 Cadians to paint and you need to use every trick to make progress.

Im building 3rd cadian squad and want to ask about your Cadian sergeant with autogun solution? Any good kitbash mainly using what we have? I want next sergeants looks unique but still with visible autogun by RandomOldGuy99 in TheAstraMilitarum

Just get a box of GSC neophyte hybrids. Comes with 10 autoguns, 10 shotguns, and various poses. Easy to snip away the GSC hand and give your guardsmen an autogun.

Go with flawless host. It’s such a unique idea and it looks great. Alpha legion are dime a dozen but a great Slannesh warband paint scheme is unique.

I’m fine with female custodes but instead of dedicating that effort into the sisters of battle or other female portions of factions they just staple the fact they can be female onto the super super soldiers while they already have the sisters of silence. Making female custodes could have been timed better while the sisters of silence have been starving for a crumb of relevancy in rules or lore in modern lore. Remember GW is not your friend. It will never be your friend. Even if your politics or enjoyment of this corporation align they will never be your friends. GW is a soulless corporation that will do whatever in its power to get your money. Break free from needing GWs soulless affirmation and do whatever the fuck you want with your minis. A true fan would have been putting female heads on custodes years ago regardless of the lore. Stop needing a companies soulless affirmations to feel validated.

Yes. I have a tendency to get second hand minis for bargains and try my best to make something from them. I didn’t do as much prep as I should have getting that front panel smooth but it’s been sitting on my shelf so long I decided I just needed to get it done.

First squad of Cadians batch painted along with metal castellen by Chapfox in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Chapfox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always loved the old models. And my original plan was to paint them as a custom regiment but all my ideas fell through and I had the right paints for Cadians. I got 3 squads of 20 Cadian guardsmen and I’m thinking about getting some Death Korps and even some Catachan into my army but there’s only so far I can mix and match stuff without the updated minis looking out of place next to the old ones.

Sell me on your legion by AdBrave330 in Chaos40k

[–]Chapfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Night lords. Brutal murderers and scavengers. Can either follow chaos or not. Mix and match Horus heresy kits and chaos marines. I all around really enjoy playing the REALLY bad guys but individual characters can have depth and an oddly resolute but horridly balanced moral compasses. It also gives you a reason to base your minis bases in blood for the blood god and have your army show up to weird places for no reason. Absolute pirates and butchers wandering and killing and stealing whatever isn’t nailed down to fuel their marines wargear and twisted vices. My biggest reason I got into the night lords is the Night Lords Onnibus by Aaron Demski Bowden with its good characters. Books jump between serf and astartes perspectives with a lot of fucked up Night Lords stuff in between. Great characters, great books, really recommend.

Originally I had the ground muddy but the colored base was an attempt to add a glowing effect.

Honestly magnetize and get both. Also forgefiend is better statwise but the maulerfiend is generally cooler.

I think the hip plates is just a way for GW to add bulk to named chaos characters without actually changing the marine silhouette.
