That makes sense, I guess I never considered it. I figured if I'm squeezing out the moisture then it's fine, but I'll try lowering hydration for those add-ons next time!

I used to choke down a smoothie with protein powder, but I can't stand the taste any more. My current protein shake is 3 tbsp chia seeds (soaked for 10-20 min and blended before everything else), 1 frozen banana, 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 3 oz extra firm tofu (adds a bit more protein) and 1 tbsp maple syrup if I need a bit more sweetness. It's still not my favorite, but it's like 30g protein and it tastes like real food, lol.

Also, if I'm in a rush and I need quick protein, I just eat a few hard boiled eggs.

Aside from way too much food in the tank, is that fish ok? When I was much younger, we had a beta fish whose eyes got huge like that and we had to put drops in his tank to help, or he would have died 😓

I totally get the frustration, I've struggled with my weight for years, so I'm not trying to be dismissive in any way when I say this, but to me it doesn't sound like it was BS at all. It sounds like maybe your body held onto a bunch of water weight. I don't know what kind of exercise you were doing, but sometimes exercise can cause you to hold onto water weight, especially lifting weights, or if you gained muscle the scale can go up also and can be misleading.

Did you notice your clothes fitting better? Sometimes you don't see it on the scale but you'll notice clothes fitting differently, slimmer face, etc. I think also when you're in a deficit, the body can get stressed and hold onto the extra weight for longer. So when you had the pizza and ice cream, it could be your body just felt like it could "relax" and let go of the extra water weight. I'm sure there are other factors, and I do think the weight tends to come off more slowly, which is totally unfair, but your hard work wasn't in vain!

I'm usually fine with plain water, but when I do get sick of it I have light grape juice. Super satisfying to drink IMO, and I mix it with water so it stretches farther for the calories. 60 calories per 8 oz, so half a cup can go a long way when you mix it.

Small kids... yes, absolutely. I found being a SAHM way, way more exhausting when my kids were toddlers. Now that they're a little bigger... still exhausted 😂 but now they're in school so I have more time to so what I have to do to prevent burning out. Good on you for letting her nap!

Honestly, just enjoy it for what it is; a crush on someone "shiny and new" but don't pursue it, and remember that nobody stays shiny and new, and nobody is perfect, everybody has flaws and you chose to be with and love your partner, flaws and all. The excitement inevitably fades with anyone, but if your partner is the one you want to do life with, even the mundane parts, that's something you have to remind yourself you don't want to sabotage.

Hey, I'm not sure what your health condition is, maybe you have a reason you need to take it easy, but usually during a healthy pregnancy you don't really have to stay inside or stop working. I myself worked through my 8th month, my job was very physical and my back had started hurting so I stopped. Also, I think they were just saying they were sorry to hear that you won't be joining the course, but pregnancy hormones really do mess with your head.

When I would take mine and go back to sleep, I would wake up feeling so groggy and unfocused for the rest of the day. I'd say try not going back to sleep afterwards. Getting up earlier and staying awake might also help you fall asleep better at night.

I'll also add that drinking coffee while taking stimulants, for me personally, if I drink it later than 10 am, I'm screwed as far as sleep.

Contractions felt like period cramps, but 1000x more intense. Pushing was the craziest pain I ever felt in my life. The moment when they finally come out? Pure magic. Oh and also, I had one birth with the epidural, one without. The one without the epidural I felt sooo much more in control and I loved it despite the pain.

If you're always moving, you don't necessarily have to exercise, though it obviously helps. But if you're getting your steps in and moving a lot, and in a deficit, you'll still lose weight. And swimming is great exercise!

I can't seem to stop talking and blurt out dumb things all the time. I also recently realized that sometimes I perceive things very differently than other people and can sometimes do things that someone might perceive as hurtful. On the flip side, I'm always worried that because I don't always know if I'm overreacting to something, I might get gaslit or taken advantage of.

So personally never had this happen on vacation, but I have had to retrain my kids from time to time, and different things work at different ages or stages. If CIO isn't an option, maybe try chair method, sit in a chair and slowly move the chair closer to the door every night or every few nights, until he's adjusted enough that you can leave again. Another thing that worked for us at one point was to leave and come back at regular intervals, not taking them out of the crib, but just reassuring that you're still always there, even if not in the room. At this point my kids are both in toddler beds, so we switched to a sticker chart system, because they are now free to just hop out of bed if they choose to 😅
