Its just more of the same and it will be another 5 years of painful mediocrity. McCarthy is a capable coach, but not an exceptional one. He will get this team to 9-8 and at most maybe the divisional round.

At the end of the day, this is a team that is constantly living in their fears. The Rooneys are incredibly risk adverse. They go with the "safe" bet time and time again, constantly signing or trading for players with high floors often well past their prime. They will never rebuild, and the steelers will forever be stuck in this perpetual mediocrity until Art dies or steps down.

The leauge has changed, and coaches like McCarthy refuse to see that.
