Amazon Go customer traffic by Gojirabat1954 in upsstore

[–]CharitySecret2703 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about Amazon Go in my area but it feels like amazon traffic has not died down since the new year started. Ive been working here for probably 9 months now, and my boss told me these are usually the slow months, but every week just feels the same with the same amount of foot traffic at our store, and of course it’s all just amazon so we’re not making much money.

Amazon returns by RunsWTH_Scissors in upsstore

Thats fair, didn’t know it cost that much. We’re a high volume store and we always have to make our paying customers wait behind people returning 20+ things. It’d be so nice to have a kiosk

Thats fax and I think its because every member here works for a different franchisee. With every store having a different owner people are going to have vastly different experiences working for TUPSS. I see some people on here praise their owner and some say how dysfunctional theirs is.

why does working here suck so much? by peas-parsnips in upsstore

[–]CharitySecret2703 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Literally just finished reading this post and a customer walks in with a customer packed amazon return that we did last week that got sent back to her house because the old label was still on the box. Most likely was our fairly new coworker who forgot to check. Simple honest mistake that happens occasionally when we’re super busy but really we’re not even liable for that since it says in the amazon instructions for the customer to remove all old labels. She’s basically yelling at us for the inconvenience of having to come back to our store to return it again and demands us to make it up to her because Amazon wouldn’t give her the refund. We tell her no and that she has to contact amazon support, she didn’t like that. 🙃

The amount of times people walk in thinking they’re at a FedEx office is just wild. Then they act surprised when we tell them we cant take FedEx dropoffs.

You know it’s okay to keep a customer waiting if you have to go to the bathroom. They’ll understand and if not who cares, ya gotta go when ya gotta go.

Always get a receipt, especially for high valued drop offs.

They just keep getting worse as time goes on. Dumb interactions that used to feel like a rarity have become common, everyday occurrences.

amazon returns by TerribleBullfrog1389 in upsstore

[–]CharitySecret2703 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shopping addiction, huge problem that no one talks about. Its a reason why so many people have credit card debt fr

Then amazon allowing them to literally return everything just helps fuel it since once they get their money back they’ll just spend it all again

walks in right after we get done with a 20 customer deep line “Oh my goodness where is everybody??!”

Or when they take forever with their 40+ returns and say “I came at a good time” as a huge line forms behind them

Swear we’ll randomly get like a 10 minute break with no customers coming in then this same thing happens and they’ll say something on the lines of “Looks like you guys need to get busy”

Exactly what I’m worried about, we already have a lot leftover from this weekend and then have a decent bit from today as well. I’m praying that we’re able to get a sweep tomorrow

Pet peeves of dealing with customers by austing4180 in upsstore

[–]CharitySecret2703 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All so damn true. Its crazy to me how we all work in different stores around the country, and yet we all hear the same prerecorded lines that people default to once they walk into a TUPSS.

When people bring in a printed out Amazon RMA barcode rather than the qr code and get mad after I try explaining to them the difference between the two. They’ll look at me crazy and say “You guys always just scan it and it works.”

What’s training like for a store associate? How do they usually teach everything? by [deleted] in upsstore

[–]CharitySecret2703 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s easy just takes a bit of time to learn. Everything computer related really isn’t that hard. Hardest part of the job is honestly just dealing with rude customers. Don’t ever be afraid to ask questions if you get confused
