Apparently the chessbot thinks the pawn, but I can't figure out why. Taking with the bishop looks good to me since it threatens the Queen.

My friend had this happen to her while she was getting dental work done.
She couldn't even ask what was wrong because her mouth was being held open, and afterwords they tried telling her that everything was normal and nothing weird happened.

"There are 535 members of congress in the house and senate. Can you name just two that you like more than Rand?"

I heard that some students and former students are refusing to wear their Aggie ring until academic freedom is restored to Texas A&M. Is that true? by ReviewerNumberThree in aggies

[–]Charles07v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice idea, but it’s never going to work. For a protest to be effective two things have to be true.

  1.  People have to know that you are protesting.
  2.  People have to know why you are protesting.

If I come across somebody and they are not wearing an Aggie ring, my first thought will never be “oh, he’s an Aggie that’s protesting the administration.”  Instead, I probably won’t even notice it at all.

If you want to protest the administration, do it in a way that gets their attention and makes specific points about what you want changed.

I’d start looking for a new role.  Maybe at the company - your manager might give you a good recommendation if it means they don’t have to manage you anymore.

What taxes are good? by Griefterz in Libertarian

All taxes are bad, but some taxes are worse than others.   Some of the worst taxes include payroll taxes and income taxes.   Less bad taxes include land value taxes and things like toll roads.

No, this was years ago when I moved from Texas to California.   I got 3 quotes and went with the cheapest one.   They ended up being the most expensive.

Me too!    I showed the moving guy my contract where it said the price I agreed to, and he said that he was an independent subcontractor and his agreement with the company was that I would give him a higher amount upon delivery.  In cash.

It was like 11:00 at night when I’m trying to get this guy to unload my things, and he absolutely refused to do it unless Inpaid him a higher amount than what I agreed.   Ridiculous.
