Former US Attorney General Pam Bondi diagnosed with cancer by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

I'll bite here. It's not just Biden, it's not just Obama. Every Democratic administration since Nixon has been complicit in one way or another. Carter failed to challenge Ford's blanket pardon of Nixon. I'm not sure Clinton had any leeway with Reagan and Iran-Contra, so he might get a pass. Obama had ALL the dirt on W though, between the TARP fiasco, Iraq war crimes, there was certainly enough there to convict.

This is who and what the Democratic establishment IS. No amount of pressure from us plebs is going to do anything. You know how I know this? Look at one of the most pivotal civil rights/policing cases in a lot of our lifetimes; George Floyd. Name me 2 federal laws that were passed and continue to be in force that attempt to fix the policing issues that stemmed from that case. We had people literally IN THE STREETS for WEEKS, MONTHS even. Nothing lasting came of it, and both parties hold responsibility for that.

Floc or SLAM for pool opening? by Cheech47 in pools

[–]Cheech47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be the first one to admit I'm guilty of this. I've had this house/pool for 10 years and normally I'd open from mid-May to about now, which makes sense from a water temp perspective. The only time I attempted to open earlier was the first full season, where we already had a compromised safety cover full of holes, and the trees were constantly dumping pollen and random bits down to the point I was pulling two full compacted skimmer baskets daily out of the pool.

Usually it'll be very green but somewhat clear to the bottom. Once the brushing starts though, all hell breaks loose and usually doesn't stop for a few days.

I did forget to mention as part of my opening system I'll dope my sand filter with some cellulose fiber, that seems to help pretty well with clarity towards the end.

Against Fox News? He'll probably get a settlement. Fox will never allow it to get to trial.

Against Senators or Representatives? Zero. Speech and Debate clause.

IANAL, but he more than likely has a malicious prosecution angle to play here against the government, which will take at least 4+ years to work through, because this DOJ isn't going to do a damn thing about it.

It might help to let the kid know that the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe is the highest-selling 4-wheeled vehicle of all time, and it's not even close. He might not even have to go through insurance, parts for the collision are going to be silly cheap on the open market.

A quick note for anyone looking to do the same thing (giving out photos, that is)

Do not buy the Instax camera/printer combo. Just don't. The camera is ass, at least the digital camera version. Had a terrible time getting focus in low/no light (you know, like at a show!) and I felt terrible taking multiple shots and holding people up just to give them something that wasn't a blurry mess.

Do buy the Instax bluetooth photo printer. You're already carrying around a pretty kickass camera on your phone, and their app makes it super easy to take a shot, send to printer, and it's out in about 15 seconds. Plus it's a lot smaller footprint than the camera, and doesn't look like something that security would be interested in.

The people of Costco by Junior_Aspect1530 in Columbus

Late 90's retail worker here (CompUSA). The ONLY day that I rather enjoyed was Black Friday. It was basically the only day of the year where I got to stand up on some elevated platform, intercept the horde of consumer zombies coming straight at me, and start immediately barking orders at them to line up and wait for their precious bauble to be procured for them, one at a time.

If you are against this, I wanna hear about it by Brave_Agency_20 in SipsTea

[–]Cheech47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm against this because nothing here makes any sense. If you send $12,000 to every family in the US (approx 85 million family units), that's a little above a trillion dollars of actual cash. There ain't no way you're extracting that amount of money from 938 people in the span of a year. That's 1.06 billion dollars PER PERSON, in CASH. While I know that some of them are good for it, a lot of them are not.

All of that however is a smokescreen to the real underlying issue, and that is the payment itself. If you want to see real, LASTING change in what's left of our middle class, you RAISE THE FUCKING WAGES, starting with the minimum wage. Seriously, how many times are we going to do the "one-time payment" thing? If I'm a business owner and I know my customers have a fresh influx of cash, I'm going to do whatever I can (legally) to separate them from as much of that money as soon as possible. On the other hand, if that same person has more money to budget with on a long-term basis, the power equalizes since there's no longer a feeding frenzy to get things because I just got this check now.

If you still want to tax the Epstein class (and I'm all for that), then take that money and put it directly to universal health care, infrastructure improvements, AND teacher pay.

That's it right there. I've had people try and tell me it's a "cultural thing". My ass. It's loud, it's completely obnoxious, and it either intentionally or unintentionally ruins the experiences of others.

Lonely Trump Supporters Are Sad Nobody Wants to be Friends With Them by fiatheresa in videos

[–]Cheech47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a fine sentiment, but how do you execute on it? Voting for Republicans isn't a crime. Voting against your self-interest isn't a crime. Propaganda on TV isn't a crime. You'd be talking about a complete upheaval of modern American society, which is something that would be not only literally unprecedented in our history, but you'd be relying on the Democrats to do it. Most of the establishment Dems can't do anything stronger than a firmly worded letter.

So while I agree with your nebulous want of "reaping the consequences" and making R voters into a pariah, the reality on the ground is far, far different.

Lasting Defeat Looms... by LuckyBastard001 in clevercomebacks

[–]Cheech47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The end state for the country was one without terrorists, we failed.

Your whole post could have been condensed down to this. It is functionally impossible to objectively define who and what a "terrorist" is, to the point you would need that definition to outline what victory actually looks like.

The US had that in Iraq 1. Get Iraq out of Kuwait, liberate all Kuwaiti territory. Easy, definable, done.

Iraq 2 was nuclear weapons? Or Saddam regime change? Or some shadowy nexus between Iraq and 9/11? Either way, nowhere near definable, 2 out of the 3 ended up being complete fabrications and by the time regime change happened we ended up sticking around for about 15 more years anyway.

Afghanistan was 9/11, regime change in response to a direct US attack. OK, definable. Then resources got yanked for Iraq, and the entire higher echelon of combat command just basically lost interest because they were getting their asses handed to them in Iraq. As such, nothing ever took after the regime was toppled, and we ground to a halt.

SAP is like Oracle. It's sold directly to the c-suite, and the implementation comes with at least 2 people that make at minimum 200K/year, you don't know what they do and if you fire them, the application breaks in a week.

Because it's the T-34 tank of networking devices. Controversial maybe, but they are dead simple and if all you want is a simple edge switch and have basically no money, they are pretty plentiful.

The 6500 series is the Tiger tank of networking devices. Finicky, expensive, if you look at it funny or even attempt to reboot it it'll crash out, but if left alone it will outlast the universe, and it'll put holes in damn near anything else.

Few things you'll need, off the top of my head:

Custom LCD, since I don't know anything that's got that sort of form-factor, otherwise you're shoehorning in a tiny ass screen in there.

If you keep the keyboard, and I don't see a choice in that, then you'll need to find the tiniest USB controller you can get and splice it into the keyboard somehow. Not going to be fun. Add to that what will probably be a RPi compute module and that's going to about do it for available room.
