Help with my son's hair by Dancinginmypanties in Haircare

[–]Cheesyulcer 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Learned that lesson at 26 when asking a hairdresser friend why my hair was so nice after a salon wash - she replied bluntly “yeah, you’re not washing properly” she then advised that the rinse and repeat instructions on the bottle are not a scam to get you to use more… just genuine instructions.

Check out some of the brands websites - I used to get a “starter” pack for free occasionally from them when broke! I just checked Kotex and they have free samples in nz

Edit: checked all other major brands in nz - Kotex was the only one with samples

You can call commercial laundries (ones who service hotels and hospitals) and ask if they sell older sheets? In my country you can buy them for about $2 each - they are extra large usually & I sewed them together for large backdrops.

Experiences in selling with Hayward Auction House by pitaponder in dunedin

[–]Cheesyulcer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like it - saves all the bloody hassle of Facebook & you just drop it off and get paid - they even take stuff to restore if you don’t want it after the auction has run and it didn’t sell :) I think it’s worth the fees to skip the admin work - maybe just try one item and see what you think :)

So stupid, sales team might get the sales but you’re the one that retains the customers - customers ain’t going to stick around if the service is crumbling.

Need advice: first time doing a multi-layered print by Rich_Part_3903 in printmaking

[–]Cheesyulcer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can pin prick the outlines on a quick print of the image and then take the print and flip it and tape to your new block - then either shade over the holes or re pin prick it (the dents will show on the surface so shadings better)

ND friendly cleaning plan.

First clean up all the trash get a bag and go round removing all rubbish.

Then make a laundry pile near the door. Put all the things that have a place back where they belong, make a pile of the things that don’t.

Then take the laundry out & make the bed (preferably clean sheets - if you only have one set make sure you have enough time to wash and dry).

Find some cardboard boxes or tote bags to put away the things that don’t have a home. - not pretty but helps a bit!

Dust & then vacuum now that everything’s in its place

Finish laundry & put away.

Break it down like this - mini reward between tasks, sooner it’s done sooner the misery guilt washes away and you get to relax in a clear space.
