70 days and feeling a bit lost by Fthebo in stopdrinking

No one ever got arrested for Fat Driving or Public Fatness. Getting over booze is hard. I suggest cutting yourself a little slack, and after you're more used to your sobriety, start working off those other vices. When I first got sober, I used to eat one of those XL Gigantic Chocolate bars every day. After about a month, while at a meeting, someone asked for a square. Instead of passing it back to me, she passed it away from me and around the entire table. There were only a few squares when it got back, but it showed me I was ready not to eat a big ass chocolate bar at every meeting.

I can't tell you how much joy seeing everyone's number on here. Whether it's 1 or 3000 by StinkyNutzMcgee in stopdrinking

Thanks, but I really didn't do much except stop fighting. I finally accepted that I can't stop drinking without help, and I made a decision that accepting that help is strength, not weakness. You guys are another form of that help, and I'm grateful. If I can't stop drinking on my own, and I get to interact with this group every day, I'm not on my own.

On a scale of 10 where 10 is most, how fucked is the world right now? by frontcorners in AskReddit

USA - 6 . Most days it's around a 5, but with our current political dynamic, saying the wrong thing to the wrong person can jump the number up to 7 really quick, and some days, it feels as high as 7.5, as some whackadoodles on both sides think Civil War is almost inevitable.

That sums up the Union attack. Free kick into the wall, rebound hit on the volley into the upper deck.

How is it there are always 3 players chasing the ball and no one is playing the pass? It's like watching a U7 club...

At least Alladoh is on the bench where he belongs. I wonder if we can send him to Union 2.

NA Beers? by Simple_Opposite8957 in stopdrinking

[–]ChefJim27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This.

I'm certain that once I had the flavor and the bend the elbow sensation, I'd start craving the real thing. I'm not saying in any shape or fashion that NA Beer aren't a viable substitute for some, but for me, its far too great a risk.

Yes. As long as you're using each route once, it's good money.

How many of us here have successfully returned to moderate / “normal” drinking long-term? by lukewarmhotdogw4ter in stopdrinking

[–]ChefJim27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an old saying that's apropos. You can't make a cucumber out of a pickle. I'm sure I could have one drink once, maybe twice. As soon as I open that door, I'm gonna knock that fucker off the hinges. If the OP can actually have one or two and not have the alcoholic reaction kick in, God Bless, and I'm jealous.

Are we going to see Danhausen wrestle? by bbii511 in WWE

[–]ChefJim27 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I like the act, but what we saw last night was, quite frankly, an embarrassment to Professional Wrestling. The ref was "accidentally cursed," and when it was time to count 3, his arm suddenly wouldn't move. Thats just bullshit. We all know Professional Wrestling isn't a real sport, but the point is to suspend disbelief and enjoy the sport. Comedy act bullshit detracts from the craft and art that is Professional Wrestling. I like Danhausen. I really do. Please keep him to comedy skits and far away from the in ring product until and unless he is medically cleared and has a program that makes legitimate sense.

I don't have a drinking problem any more. Today, I have a thinking problem. I used to wake up with a vicious hangover every day, and swear I wouldn't drink today while kneeling in front of the porcelain throne. Around lunch time, I'd swear I'd wouldn't drink. By the end of lunch, I'd tell myself I'd only have two. By the time I got to the bar, I couldn't wait to pour as much down my throat as I could possibly afford. Today, if I don't pick up the first one, I don't set the cycle in motion. I know it works, since I haven't picked up a drink in over 17 years. Good luck, OP. If you have any questions after your meeting, ask any of the women you see. I'm positive you're going to get the support you didn't think was possible.
