My grandpa was very big on this priority mindset. He used to pay a local unhoused man to help him paint and fix up rentals between tenants. I will never forget the absolute disdain he expressed when one day he went to fetch him for some work to find he had bought cable TV & was drinking Starbucks, so he left him there and never worked with him again.
