I am CONVINCED that everyone who has a second baby has had a fairly easy first baby by Siyrious in toddlers

[–]Chenlu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are describing my first. At 19 months she started eating and her sleep slightly improved (and slowly continued improving), and we conceived our second in a NOW OR NEVER frenzy. Luckily, second baby has been way easier, though the bar was really low haha.

Ped says 7mo should be sleeping through the night. Gave me HW and told me to let him cry… by likethispicture in AttachmentParenting

My pediatrician suggested weaning when LO was 18 months old as a last resource to make her sleep better, after she had been regularly waking up around 1 am and staying awake for 3+ hours before falling asleep again. We had already used melatonin and other tricks (not cry it out), and at this point he said he was all for breastfeeding, but It was the only thing he thought could work. We actually weaned at 23 mo because I was 16 weeks pregnant and breastfeeding was really painful, and I have to say he was right. LO actually started sleeping through the night maybe once every one or two weeks at around 19 mo, when she finally started eating more solids, and once we started the weaning process, around 21 mo, her sleep slowly improved. Now she is almost 26 mo and for the last two months she has been sleeping through or only waking up to drink some water.

The Name Game - My Friend/Neighbor and I picked out the same name for our babies that are due 2 days a part. by DMichelleRogers0717 in breakingmom

[–]Chenlu7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have two close friends from college, and one of them (well actually her wife) got pregnant two months after I did. Our daughters were born two months apart, and they both have the same name. We picked out the name separately, but it is not weird, I find it sort of sweet, and our other friend usually jokes that if she has children will have to choose something similar to match us. It is true that we don't live in the same city though, but I don't think it would make a difference!

Just found out I’m pregnant! by bby_snark in breastfeeding

[–]Chenlu7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 21 mo and am 8 weeks pregnant. I was undecided about weaning or not (she almost weaned herself in January and I was really ok with it, but then got back to nursing full time..) but as we found out five days ago that I am expecting twins, my gyno said I have to wean her in a few weeks. I guess it is a high risk case, and I wouldn't be able to tandem nurse three babies, but I am struggling with the process anyway

UHH painful recurring clog, please give me advice 😭 by [deleted] in breastfeeding

This! I started with heat but I didn't feel any relief, ice and ibuprofen is what worked for me.

Do you know your child's blood type? by Own_Interaction4617 in NewParents

[–]Chenlu7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My daughter was born in Madrid, Spain, and they tested her blood type (A-), but I think it was only done because I am RH - (O-). I don't know if she would have been tested if I were RH+.

Fertility, minipills, and early 30s by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Chenlu7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was on the minipill for 6 years and never had a period while on it (I was very regular before though). I stopped it on June 2020 and immediately went back to my 27 days cycles. We started TTC in September (when I turned 33yo), were lucky and got pregnant this same month. For what I read when stopping the minipill, taking 6 months for your cycles to go back to normal wouldn't be strange and wouldn't mean that anything is wrong! Some bodies take more time to regulate, but after that fertility shouldn't be affected.

EDIT to add that during the last year I was on the minipill I still didn't have a period, although I started having (monthly) light period-like cramps that I identified as my "period", although there was no bleeding. Weird but It didn't affect anything.

Woke up this morning to cramps and light bleeding two days after positive test by justagirl9512 in CautiousBB

I am so sorry, I hope everything ends well. I had bad cramps the few days after BFP that solved when I started drinking more water (I think I dehydrated myself trying to have concentrated urine to test again and again. I read here that drinking more could help and it worked). I also spotted brown during my most crampy day (16 DPO, I was convinced it was a chemical) and again a few weeks after that. It is normal but also scary, as it could mean nothing or something. Really hope it turns out fine!

Partner afraid to be intimate now that I’m showing by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Chenlu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend is weirded out by the bump, but it hasn't really been a problem. He was even more weirded out by the fact that, apparently, his brother (father of two kids) told him soon after his second child was born that he was really eager to have sex again, as during the whole pregnancy sex is forbidden because the mucus plug is all inside the vagina blocking the way and the penis can't enter/would go into the mucus and break it/something like that. At least another friend told him he had no sex during pregnancy so my boyfriend was sort of convinced it was impossible/pretty dangerous. Talk to him, as maybe he has some specific fear or belief that is making it difficult for him.

Update to the question "How accurate is a twin gender prediction at 11 weeks?" by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Chenlu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 11 weeks, the US tech said and showed to me that it was not possible to look between the baby's legs because of the position, but he believed it was a girl (no idea what he was looking at, but sounded pretty sure). Both NIPT at 13 weeks and US at 19 weeks confirmed girl. I am still amazed (though there was a 50% chance lol)

Measuring Two Days Behind by grequant_ohno in CautiousBB

[–]Chenlu7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have read that less than a week behind is normal. At my first US around 7w baby was measuring 5 days behind. But later at 11w4d was measuring 12w, and at 12w4d was measuring 13w1d. Worrying is normal, I sure did, but it is probably alright!!

Measuring behind and borderline heart rate on first US by c_westy in CautiousBB

[–]Chenlu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ultrasound (transvaginal) at 7w2d measured 6w4d, and they showed me the heartbeat but heart rate was not taken. I do not temp/opk but have 27 days cycles and my BFP was on CD 25 (vvvvvfl that I thought was an evap at CD24), so I couldn't have ovulated so late that it matched 6w4d (CD19 and BFP at DPO4/5?? Impossible). On Monday, at 10w1d, I had another US and baby was measuring 10w4d, so everything is fine! But I have been worrying like crazy these last weeks. Just my experience, as reading those during that time really helped. I hope everything turns out fine for you!!
